Submitter's notes - 1) This family originally lived in the vanished town of Oakland in northern Union Parish, near the Arkansas state line. E.A.Buckley's parents were Henry L. Buckley and Laura Jane Tate, pioneer settlers of Oakland who arrived from Tennessee in about 1850. His parents are buried in the old Springhill cemetery. 2) In their later years, E. A.Buckley and Mary Louise Mayo moved to Jonesboro, LA to live near their daughter, Genevieve Buckley Corbett. They are both buried in the Jonesboro City Cemetery in the Corbett family plot. ############################################################
