His family moved to Jones Co GA in 1809/1810. John Barron was a Revolutionary War soldier, as was his father "Captain" William Barron. John Barron died in Jones County in 1823. Later that year, Henry married Sarah Callaway, the daughter of Jonathan Callaway and Sarah Dennis. The Callaways had moved to Georgia from Somerset Co MD and Guilford Co NC, and Sarah had been born in Hancock Co GA in 1802. In 1824, John Barron's widow Frances and all of their children moved from Jones to Upson Co GA, while the Callaways remained in Jones County. In 1825 and 1826, Henry and Sarah went back and forth between Upson and Jones Counties. But the Callaways moved to Monroe County in 1827, and Henry bought a farm in Upson that year and lived there until the end of 1833. At that time he sold his farm and moved to Alabama to join relatives. Henry and Sarah first settled in Barbour Co AL, where her brothers Daniel and Henry Callaway lived. By 1843, Henry Barron was north in Macon Co AL with Sarah's brothers Henry and Benjamin. Finally, in 1848, Henry and Sarah Barron moved to Tallapoosa County, not too far from his brothers Hiram and Milton Barron in Randolph County. In early 1852, Henry and Sarah sold their Alabama farm and moved to Union Parish Louisiana, settling a few miles south of Spearsville on the Cornie Bayou. Henry and Sarah lived there for the rest of their lives. Henry and a few other men bought two acres of land in 1860 and donated it to the community for a "graveyard", now called the Spearsville Cemetery. Sarah died in 1863, and Henry died in 1870, with both buried in the cemetery just under the large cedar tree towards the back. Henry and Sarah had these children: 1. Zilleann Frances Barron married Alexander Wilson Upshaw 2. William J. Barron 3. James Daniel Barron 4. Henry Callaway Barron 5. Hiram G. Barron 6. Sarah Amanda Barron married (1) Frederick M. Hawkins and (2) Dr. John V. Arrington 7. Milton L. Barron, joined the Confederate Army in 1861 and fought in the battles of Shiloh, Corinth, Jackson, and Chickamauga, besides others. He died from a gunshot wound at the Battle of Ezra Church in July 1864, while defending the city of Atlanta from Sherman's horde. 8. Mary A. Barron, married (1) W. Beck and (2) Aaron B. Lott 9.
