To visit the cemetery from Farmerville, travel north on SR-15 (Main Street) approximately 3.5 miles and turn right on SR-549 and continue north for approximately 9 miles to just south of Truxno. A gate is provided at the road (SR-549) for access but the cemetery in located in a saddle of the hill so it cannot be seen clearly. The cemetery is surrounded by a second fence with a gate on the east side and there are some trees along this fence. This enclosure had been mowed and was free of weeds at the time of the survey. Twenty-five graves were found. They are listed below starting from the east and working from north to south. In "MISC INFO" column, "ho" means husband of, and "wo" means wife of; "so" means son of and "do" means daughter of. If there was a veterans marker, it is noted in the MISC INFO with rank and branch of service and where served as shown on the actual marker. "No dod" or "no dob" means there was no date inscribed on the marker for birth or death. ====================================================================================== ========================================================================================================================================= LAST FIRST MID. It is also thought that his wife, Martha Tucker Brooks, may be buried here as well. Wilks Brooks was a merchant at what was once known as Brooks Crossroads, now Truxno. Brooks (11 Feb 1785 - 7 Mar 1849) was born in Greenville, Pitt County North Carolina and died in Union Parish. #######################################################################################
