To the Honorable the Judge of the 12th District Court, Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of James M. Turner, a resident of said Parish respectfully represents that Daniel B. Acree, late of said Parish was administrator of the Estate of Dandridge Acree, Decd. also late of said Parish. He represents that said Estate is not finally administered, that he is interested in said Estate and prays that an inventory may be had and that he may be appointed administrator of the same and for such other orders and decrees as the case may require and for general relief. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 12th Judicial District Court Parish of Union The premises considered it is ordered and decreed that the within application of James M. Turner, to be appointed Administrator of Dandridge Acree, Decd. be advertised according to law. It is further ordered that Wm. C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public and for said Parish and State be and he is authorized to make an inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the said Estate of Dandridge Acree, Decd. and due return thereof make to this office without delay. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the 19th day of November AD 1860 in presence of an order of the 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish and State aforesaid and to me William C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public in and for the Parish and State aforesaid directed commanding me to make an Inventory and appraisement of all the property belonging to the Estate and Succession of Dandridge Acree, Deceased. I repaired to the late residence of Daniel B. Acree in the Parish of Union assisted by James C. Manning and Austin Honeycutt, residents of the Parish of Union who being duly appointed and sworn by me the said Recorder as appraisers and in the presence of lawful and competent witnesses, I proceeded to make an Inventory and appraisement of the Estate of Dandridge B. Acree, Decd. as follows to wit: A Tract of Land situated in the Parish of Union, Louisiana numbered as follows. The east half of the North East quarter of section four in T19 Range 2 East containing 79 and 44/100 acres, and the SW ¼ of Sec. 4 in T19 R2 East containing 79 and 23/100 acres contained in the aggregate 158 97/100 acres with the improvements therein apprd. @ $1.50 per acre $238.45 Total amount Two Hundred and Thirty Eight and 43/100 Dollars Having completed the foregoing inventory and appraisement I have closed the same on this the 19th day of November AD 1860. In testimony whereof I have cause said appraisers to sign their names with me the said Recorder and in the presence of Wm. Willhite and Benj. Farmer lawful and competent witnesses who have also signed their names the day and date above written. ATTEST: Austin Honeycutt William Willhite Jas. C. Manning B. F. Farmer W. C. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Know all men by these presents that we James M. Turner as principal and David Ward as his security are held and firmly bound unto R. W. Richardson, Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court in and for Union Parish, State of Louisiana or to his successors in office in the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to the true and faithful payment thereof we bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns in solid on this the 1st day of December AD 1860. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said James M. Turner has been appointed administrator of the Estate of Dandridge Acree, Decd. and he has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now, therefore, if the said James M. Turner shall faithfully administer said Estate and shall do and perform all the acts in and about said Estate and shall render a true and correct account to the Judge of the said Court or to his successors in office or to the legal heirs of said Estate when required legally so to do, then this obligation to be null and void or otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect against principal and his said securities. Turner, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Administrator of the Estate of Dandridge Acree, Decd. according to the best of my abilities and understanding. Turner has been duly and legally appointed Administrator of the Estate of Dandridge Acree, Decd. and he has given bond with good security and has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore the said James M. Turner is hereby duly and legally authorized and empowered to do and perform all acts appertaining to said appointment according to law.
