To the Honorable the Judge of the Twelfth Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The petition of Rachel Farmer, a resident of your said Parish and State respectfully represents unto your honor that Daniel B. Acree, late of your said Parish and State departed this life on or about the 31st day of October AD 1860 at his residence in said parish leaving petitioner a widow and four minor children the issue of their marriage to wit: James, Susan, Permelia and Dandridge M. Acree, also leaving an estate consisting of personal property, land, rights and credits. Petitioner represents that as the widow in community and natural tutrix of her minor children, she is entitled to the administration of said Estate and prays that an inventory and appraisement may be had according to law and that after due proceedings had, she may be appointed administratrix of said estate and natural tutrix to her said children and that Benjamin F. Farmer be appointed Under Tutor and for such other orders as may be necessary and for general relief. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 12th Judl. Dist. Court Parish of Union The premises considered, it is ordered and decreed that the within application of Rachel Farmer to be appointed administratrix of the Estate of Daniel B. Acree, Decd. be advertised according to law. It is further ordered that Wm. C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public in and for said Parish and State be and he is authorized to make an Inventory and Appraisement of the property belonging to the said Estate of Daniel B. Acree, Decd. and due return thereof make to this office without delay. Done and signed in office this 13th day of November AD 1860. Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk The State of Louisiana 12th Judicial District Court Parish of Union The premises considered it is ordered and decreed that the prayer of petitioner be granted and that Mrs. Rachel Acree be and she is hereby appointed and confirmed Natural Tutrix to her minor children and heirs of the Estate of Daniel C. [six] Acree, decd. to wit: James, Susan Permelia and Dandridge M. Acree, and that Benjamin F. Farmer be and he is appointed Under tutor to said minors and upon taking the oath prescribed by law that letters do issue to them. Done and signed in office on the 13th November AD 1860. Thos. C. It is ordered and decreed that Mrs. Rachel Acree be and she is hereby appointed administratrix of the Estate of Daniel B. McCowen as her securities are held and firmly bound unto Robert W. Richardson, Judge of this 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish and State aforesaid for the time being or to his successors in office in the full and just sum of Fifteen Thousand two hundred and twenty dollars, the true and faithful payment whereof well and truly to be made. We the said members, our heirs, assigns, administrators, Executors and legal representatives firmly by these presents dated at residence of Decd. Louisiana December the 21st AD 1860. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Rachel Acree has been duly appointed Administrator of the Estate of Dan値 B. Acree, decd. and has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now, therefore, if the said Rachel Acree shall faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on her as Administrator of said Estate and shall faithfully account to the Judge of the said court for all moneys or properties received (belonging to said Estate) from this or any other state and shall render a true and faithful account of all his acts and doings in and about said Estate to the Judge of said Court and whenever legally required so to do to pay over all sums of money and deliver all the property of whatever nature belonging to said Estate to the proper person or persons to receive the same. Then the above obligation to be null and void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect against the principal and her said securities.
