George moved with his parents from Twiggs County Georgia to the Snow Hill region of Wilcox County Alabama around 1822 - 1824. About 1842, George married to a daughter of his neighbor, Richard Fowler. Records conflict as to whether George first married Milly Fowler or her older sister Elizabeth. In any case, they had two sons, Enoch R. and James A. Albritton, before George's first wife died. Apparently leaving his sons in Alabama with relatives, George followed his relatives on their move to Union Parish Louisiana in about 1847. He bought a farm next to his sister-in-law, Samantha Fowler Scarborough, located about seven miles east of Farmerville. George W. Albritton returned to Wilcox County in late 1849, and on 3 January 1850, he remarried there to Sarah Ann Fowler, the younger sister to his first wife. They returned to Union Parish and lived there until George's death in 1867. ================================================================================= ================================================================================= Estate of G.
