Andrews, Union Parish Louisiana ================================================================================= To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The petitioner Miles W. Goldsby of the Parish and State aforesaid respectfully represents that he has filed a full and complete account of his tutorship of the minors William T. and Mark E. Andrews from which account it will appear that he as Tutor is indebted to said William T. Andrews in the sum of Twenty six hundred and seventy two and 81/00 dollars which is the balance shown by said account. It will also appear that he is due Mark E. Andrews a balance of Twenty six hundred and thirty and 26/100 dollars. He further represents that William T. Andrews is supposed to be dead and the other ward Mark E. Andrews is now of age. Wherefore, he prays that all the parties in interest be duly notified and that his account with such of the aforesaid minors be duly approved and homologated according to law and that on presenting the receipts of the parties in interest that his bond as tutor be canceled and his interest that his bond as tutor be canceled and he and his securities be released from all responsibility from and for general relief &c. To amount due upon account rendered and duly homolgated on the 5th of October 1861 which is the last account filed the sum of twenty three hundred and fifty six and 65/100 dollars $2355.65 Said amount was due the production portion of it drawing Interest from June 24, 1861 and is composed of the following items to wit: Real Estate as apprd. 100.00 Note on R. H. Andrews the ½ principal 26.25 Production assets, Cash 2223.00 To interest on production assets $2230.00 from June 24, 1861 to November 1st 1865 four years, four months and six days @ 5% [blank] Sum total of Debts with which tutor charges himself up November 1st 1865 2841.67 The Tutor credits himself with sundry amounts as follows: By account of C. Andrews Note 26.65 Production Assets or cash __2503.60 $2636.25 Notice of the within account is hereby acknowledged and I hereby approve of the said account this October 24th 1865. Uriah Bass Mark E. Andrews State of Louisiana 22nd November 1865 Parish of Union I, Mark E. Andrews having arrived at the age of twenty one years have this day received from Miles W. Goldsby, my tutor, ten bales of cotton weighing each 450 pounds in full payment of all that is due me as Ward of said Miles W. Goldsby in the District Court on 27th day of October 1865. The seemingly amount taken in full and entire discharge of my said Tutor is agreed upon in [unreadable] of the present ruined condition of the people generally from which my tutor who has been for the full is not exempt. Also, one house and lot in the town of Marion and 40 forty acres of land joining T. G. Stewart. Mark E. Andrews Homologation of the Final Account filed by Miles W. Goldsby as Tutor of the minors William T. Andrews and Mark E. Andrews. 1st Vouchers – vouchers filed with said accounts. 2nd John L. Barrett, Esq. Sworn says that he saw Uriah Bass, Under tutor and Mark E. Andrews sign the notice and approval of the said final account and that they are the only parties in interest residing in the Parish of Union, Louisiana. John L. Barrett Sworn to and subscribed before me this 4th day of November AD 1865. Thos. C. Lewis Clerk, District Court State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union I, Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk of the said court in and for Union Parish, Louisiana do hereby certify the above to be all the evidence adduced on the homologation of the final account filed by Miles W. Goldsby as Tutor for the minors William T. Andrews and Mark E. Andrews. Account filed October 17th 1865. Done and signed in office this 4th day of November 1865. Thos. C. Goldsby as Tutor of William T. Andrews and Mark E. Andrews and by further reason of the approval and acknowledgement of U. Bass the Under tutor of the Under Tutor of the said minors. It is therefore ordered and decreed that the said within final account be and the same is hereby allowed, approved and homologated in all its parts according to law.
