HENRY 2 JANUARY 1872 Union Parish, Louisiana Page 241 - 242 This Indenture made on this the second day of January A.D. 1872 between W. N. Autrey of the parish and state aforesaid of the first party and Thomas J. Henry of the above named state and parish, of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of ninety dollars to me in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained, granted and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part, the following described tract or parcel of land to wit: the N. half of N. W. Quarter of Section 5, Township 20 N, Range 3 West containing 80 acres more or less, and we the party of the first part do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, administrations and assigns unto the party of the second part to firmly warrant and defend the right and title of the above described tract or parcel of land against the legal title or claim of any and all persons whomsoever claiming the same, so will as the claim of the general government unto the party of the second part, his heirs, administrations or assigns, given under my hand and seal this the 2nd day of January 1872. Smith Bender, an official notary public, in and for the parish and state aforesaid, personally came William N. Autrey of the said parish, who declared he was indebted to his wife, Rebecca Henry, in the sum of $l,100.00 by the amount of paraphernalia property and money received from his said wife about the year 1858 and 1859 and by him converted to his own use having disposed of one house which she received from her father previous to his death for the sum of $160.00 that she received out of the Estate of her father of his paraphernalia (property). I hereby testify the foregoing to be a true and correct transcription of the (document) as appears on record in my office in Notary Book H, page 449.
