Benson, Decd. 12th District Court Union Parish, Louisiana Whereas by the advise of a family meeting held according to law, F. G. Hargis has been duly and legally appointed Co Tutor to Willard, Rosa Ann, and Samuel E. Benson with his wife E. A. Benson who by said family meeting was retained Natural Tutrix to said minors by your Honorable Court in and for said Parish and State and hath complied with the requirements of the law. Now therefore he is duly and legally authorized and empowered to perform all and singular the duties and acts appertaining to said appointment according to law. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the fourteenth day of May AD 1860 in pursuance of an order of the Honorable 12th Judicial District Court within and for the Parish of Union and State of Louisiana and to me William C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public, directed, I callused to come before me at the Town of Marion in this Parish the following citizens, Benjamin F. George, Gabriel N. Benson, Gabriel R. Plummer and Lewis M. Powell and John A. White convoked as a family meeting for the purpose of advising and recommending as to the appointment of a Tutor to the minor heirs of Samuel E. Benson, Decd. late of this Parish to wit: Willard, Rosa Ann and Samuel E. Benson, the above members being relatives and friends of said minors and said members being duly sworn by me according to law, proceeded to take the mater under consideration and after mature deliberation they advise and recommend that Elizabeth A. Hargis the mother of said minors be appointed and confirmed Tutrix to her said minor children viz: Willard, Rosa Ann and Samuel E. Benson, on complying with all the requirements of the law, made and provided in such case of the State of Louisiana. They further advise that Felix G. Hargis be appointed Co Tutor to said minors on complying with all the requirements of law. In testimony whereof, I have caused said members to sign their names to this process verbal in the presence of Joseph W. Terry and E. A. Reppond, male citizens of lawful age and domiciled in said Parish who having hereto signed with said members and me the said Recorder on this the fourteenth day of may AD 1860. ATTEST Joseph J.
