OATH & LETTERS OF NATURAL TUTOR: filed May 18, 1871

I, Elzie B. Bilberry, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all 
the duties incumbent upon me as Natural Tutor of my following Minor Children, to wit: 
Mary F., Elizabeth B., George W., Cicely G, and John M. Bilberry heirs of the estate of 
May J. Bilberry Deceased, according to the best of my ability and understanding, so help 
me God.

this 18th day of may 1871.

Whereas E.B. Bilberry has been duly and legally appointed natural Tutor of her following 
Minor Children, to wit: Mary F., Elizabeth B., George W., Cicely G, and John M. 
Bilberry heirs of the estate of Mary J. Bilberry Deceased and he has taken an oath 
prescribed by law.

NOW THERFORE, the said E.B. Bilberry is hereby duly and legally authorized and 
empowered to do and perform all acts appertaining to the said appointment, according to 
law.

I, James W. Reid, Clerk of the Eleventh Judicial District Court in & for the parish of 
Union, LA and as such the acting clerk of the Parish would for said Parish, do hereby 
certify that the total amount of property belonging to the minors Mary F., Elizabeth B., 
George W., Cicely G, and John M. Bilberry heirs of the Estate of Mary J. Bilberry dec’d. 
is Fifty Three 31/100 dollars as per process verbal of family meeting on file in my office.
