Carson as principal and John W. Thomas as his security are held and firmly bound unto R. W. Richardson, Judge 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union and State aforesaid or his successors in office in the sum of one thousand dollars to the true and faithful payment thereof we bind ourselves our heirs assigns and legal representatives firmly and in so bide by these presents on this the 28th day of Jan. A.D. 1860 at Farmerville, Louisiana. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounden George W. Carson has been appointed tutor to the minor Robert D. Carson and hath taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore if the said George W. Carson shall faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on his as Tutor and render a true and faithful account of his doings and acts as such tutor and truly account for all such monies and amounts that have or may at any future time come into his hands as tutor to the said minor to the said Judge or to his successors in office or to the legal representatives of the said minor whenever legally required so to do. The above obligation to stand null and void otherwise to remain in full force and effect. Done signed and acknowledged on this the day and date above written. ATTEST: G. W. Carson Thos. C.
