Crow, Decd., Union Parish Louisiana Union Parish Louisiana Succession Book E, pp. 582 - 592 ================================================================================== ================================================================================== Note: In the spring of 1862, Stephen R. Crow enlisted as a private in a company of men from Union Parish commanded by James M. Lupo. The men went to Monroe, where they officially entered the Confederate service on 23 March 1862. Crow's unit became Company E, 25th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. Apparently due to Yankee naval attack upon New Orleans that month, the men headed directly to the Cresent City instead of training at Camp Moore (as all other Louisiana units had done in 1861). Crow died at New Orleans on 29 March 1862, six days after he officially entered the service. Stephen R. Crow married Lucinda C. Acree in 1859. She was the daughter of Beverly Dandridge Acree and Susannah Margaret Bowman. Stephen and Lucinda had one son, John David Crow, born in 1861. ================================================================================== To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court, Parish of Union, State of Louisiana.
