Davis, Administrator of the Estate of S. C. Davis, Decd. In account with said estate the Admx. charges herself with the amount of the inventory of said Estate amounting to seven Hundred and fifteen & 65/100 Dollars $715.65 She charges herself with excess of sales over appraisement value of Property sold __39.70 Sum total Debts $755.35 The Admx. Returns Sundry claims found on the inventory which she has not been able to collect, as follows for which the claims a credit: Slowns acct. .44 James Alford acct. .60 W. Rogers acct. .40 C. C. Union Democrat, See voucher 5 __5.00 48.05 These debits paid, amt. to the sum of which leave after deducting the bad debts returned the sum of 689.45 The admx. Alleges that debts not privileged have been presented as follows: Hill & Griffin, acct. of 1857 40.47 W. C. Carr’s acct. of 1856 40.00 W. C. Carr’s acct. of 1857 10.00 J. W. Miller, Acct. of 1857 60.00 D. M. Jamison’s acct. ___87.50 Amts. In all to the sum of 295.87 Further mon. Wm. C. Carr has a privileged claim for funeral expenses amounting to Thirty One & 5/100 Dollars 31.05 James Cole acct. for Coffin __17.00 Privileged debt unpaid 48.05 Recapitulation: Debits Amount of Debts 755.35 Credits Property returned 17.85 Privileged debts paid 48.05 __65.90 Bal in hands of Admx. $689.45 Privileged debts unpaid Funeral expenses 48.05 To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judl. District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The Petition of Sarah A. E. Davis Admx. Of the Estate of S. C. Davis, Decd. represents that she is the surviving spouse and widow in community of the said S. C. Davis, late of this Parish of Union, La. Where she now resides. That she has administered the estate of her late husband, and herewith, files her account of the said administration, from which it appears that whole available assets of the said estate was seven Hundred fifty five & 35/100 Dollars $755.35. That out of the sum is to be paid first the law charge which are privileged amounting to the sum of Forty eight & 5/10 Dollars $48.50 Second the funeral expenses amount to the sum of forty eight and 5/100 Dollars are also privileged These claims being paid leave in the hands of the administratrix $641.40 She represents that under the act of 1852 she as surviving widow and natural Tutrix of the minor children issue of her marriage with Decd. She is entitled to the sum of One thousand Dollars out of the said estate of S. C. Davis, Decd. She having nothing in her own right nor in the right of her minor children. Wherefore she prays that this, her final account and Tableau of distribution be advertised according to Law and that of after the legal delays, her account and Tableau be approved and homolgated in all its parts. That she be ordered to pay first the Law charges, second the formal charges and third, that she retain in her own hands the remainder of the property it being Six Hundred and forty One & 40/100 Dollars $641.40 under the Homestead Law which gives her the privilege upon one thousand Dollars and on her giving the clerks of this court or showing them from their holders of privileged claims as per her account. Showing the same to have been paid that her bond be cancelled as admx. And that she and her security be released from all responsibility therein or for all orders and decrees necessary in the premises and for general relief &C. J. L. Barrett, Atty. State of Louisiana 11th Judl. District Court Parish of Union The premises considered it is ordered that the final account and Tableau of Distribution of S. A. E. Davis admx. Of the estate of S. C. Davis, Decd. be adopted according to law. Done and signed in office this April 11th, 1861. Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk. Succession of S. C. Davis, Decd. Homolgation of final acct. and Tableau of Distribution Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk of the District Court sworn says that the final acct. of tableau of Distribution of the said Estate has been filed and advertised in the columns of the “Swing South” (a newspaper published weekly in Union Parish, La) and also by posting at the door of the court house for more than thirty days from to this date and that there has been no opposition made to the same. Thos. C. Lewis, Clk. Sworn to and subscribed before me on this the 1st day of June AD 1861. C. Lassiter, J. R. Voucher accompanying the account, I hereby certify the above and forgoing to be all the evidence adduced on the Homolgation of the same account. Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk State of Louisiana 11th Judl. District Court Parish of Union In the matter of the final account and Tableau of Distribution of the estate of S. C. Davis, decd. By reason of the law and the evidence in the case and by further reason of the proper advertisement having been made and no opposition have been filed to the same. It is ordered, adjudged and decreed that the within and forgoing final account and Tableau of Distribution of Mrs. S. A. E. Davis as administratrix of the estate of S. C. Davis, decd. be allowed, approved and homolgated in all its parts according to Law. It is further ordered that the administratrix after paying the Law, and funeral charges obtain the remainder of the property amounting to six hundred and forty one & 40/100 Dollars $641.40 under the Homestead Law, it allowing her One thousand dollars. It is further ordered that her bond as admx. Of said estate be and it is hereby cancelled. Done and signed in office on this the 1st day of June 1861. Thos. C.
