The petition of Wm. B. Deshazo, a resident of said Parish, James D. Deshazo, Martha A., wife of P. H. Tucker, Caroline, wife of William H. Pore, Mary Deshazo respectfully represents that they together with [unreadable] John, Lucinda T., Alexander, Charles L., and Sarah T. Deshazo, minors are the legal heirs of John Deshazo, decd. late of this parish. Mary Deshazo also residing in said parish represents that she is the widow of said John Deshazo decd. and the mother of said minors and James M., the petitioner. They represent that said John Deshazo departed this life on or about March 4th last leaving a small estate which they are willing to accept with the benefit of an Inventory. They pray that Mary B. Deshazo be appointed and confirmed Tutrix to the minors above named and that William Deshazo be appointed Under Tutor. That inventory and appraisement be had according to Law and that such other proceedings be had in the premises as may be necessary and legal. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 12th Judicial District Court Parish of Union Let the prayer of Petitioners be granted and it is ordered that Mary B. Deshazo be and she is hereby appointed and confirmed natural tutrix to the minors Amanda, John, Lucinda T., Alexander, Charles L. and Sarah L. Deshazo upon her taking the oath according to Law. It is further ordered that William B. Deshazo be and he is hereby appointed Under Tutor to the said minors upon taking the required oath by law. It is further ordered that Wm. C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Exofficio Notary Public in and for said Parish and State be and his is authorized to make an Inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the Estate of John Deshazo decd. and due return thereof make to this office without delay. Deshazo, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially perform all the duties incumbent on me as Natural Tutrix to may minor children to wit: Amanda, John, Lucinda F., Alexander, Charles L. and Sarah L. Deshazo has been duly and legally appointed Under Tutor to the following minor children of John Deshazo decd. to wit: Amanda, John Lucinda F., Alexander, Charles L. and Sarah L. Deshazo and he has taken the oath prescribed by Law. Now therefore the said Wm. Deshazo is hereby duly and legally authorized and empowered to discharge all and singular the duties appertaining to said appointment according to law. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the second day of May A.D. 1860 in pursuance of an order of the 12th District Court within and for the Parish of Union and State of Louisiana and to me W. c. Smith, Parish Recorder and Exofficio Notary Public in and for said Parish directed. I repaired to the late residence of John Deshazo late of this Parish for the purpose of making an Inventory and appraisement of all the property both real and personal belonging to the estate and succession of the said John Deshazo deceased and whereas Butler K. Sims and Len B.
