Eubanks, Decd., Union Parish Louisiana Union Parish Louisiana Succession Book G, pp. 146 - 150 ================================================================================= ================================================================================= NOTE: Wilson C. Eubanks (born c1805 in Virginia) settled in Union Parish by the time the parish was formed. In about 1840, he purchased property from the government located where the Crossroads Community of southeastern Union Parish is presently located. In fact, his farm included the present-day Crossroads Cemetery. This community was apparently located on a road at that time, for Eubanks opened the second oldest post office in the parish there on 2 May 1840; the Enterprise Post Office opened the same day that the Farmerville Post Office opened, with Eubanks serving as its postmaster from then until 10 November 1840. Eubanks also served as a deacon in the Good Hope (Missionary) Baptist Church located in that vicinity. In the early 1840s, Eubanks left the Enterprise Community and moved to Monroe. He lived in Ouachita Parish in 1850 with his children John B. (born c1837 in Alabama), Eliza Jane (born c1842 in Union Parish), Georgiana (born c1846, probably in Ouachita Parish), and Henry L. Eubanks, born c1849 in Ouachita Parish). Eubanks' farm was valued at $5300 and he owned nine slaves. In 1860, Eubanks' children Eliza, Georgiana, and Henry lived in Monroe in the household of G. A. J. Brown. ================================================================================= ================================================================================= To the Honorable the Judge of the Eleventh Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of William P. Smith, a resident of said Parish respectfully represents that Henry L.
