Explanatory Note by T. D. Hudson added 7/2004: 
John Ferguson settled in what is now Union Parish Louisiana in the early 1820s. 
He lived in southern Union Parish in the "Pine Hills" community surrounding Bayou 
D'Arbonne in 1832 when he applied for a Revolutionary War pension. He lived there 
in the 1830s and 1840s, but apparently visited his married children in Amite County 
Mississippi at various times. It appears that he died in Mississippi while on a 
visit to his children there.
