He was born about 1818 in Alabama. Alfred and wife Nancy (born c1819 in Alabama) had sons Franklin and Thomas Ford born in Alabama in 1841 and 1843, respectively, and daughter Elizabeth, born about 1847 in Louisiana. The petition of Humphrey W. Ramsey of said Parish and State respectfully represents that petitioner is legally constituted Administrator of the Succession of Alford Ford, Decd. late of same residence. That said Succession is to some extent in debt and that there is a sufficient amount perhaps of personal property belonging to the Succession to pay all of its indebtedness. Wherefore petitioner prays your honorable court for an order of sale authorizing the Administrator to sell at public auction for cash all the personal effects of said Succession after an advertisement for the purpose of paying the debts. That the sale be on the late remises of said Alford Ford, Decd. Petitioner further prays for all other orders and decrees necessary in the premises and finely for general relief. B. W. W. Ramsey was advertised for more than thirty days and no opposition thereto has been drawn. The petition of Humphrey W. Ramsey, Administrator of the Estate of Alfred Ford, Decd. respectfully shows that he has herewith filed his final account of his Administration of the said Estate. From which account it appears that he has paid debt to a greater amount than the whole assets of the Estate coming into his hands and that the Estate is thus actually indebted to petitioner in the sum of fifteen hundred and thirty and 34/100 dollars. Wherefore he prays that this account be advertised according to law, that the parties in interest be notified and after the legal delays that this with his former account be approved and homologated and he have judgment against the Estate for the sum of $1530.34 with 5% interest from date of judgment and that his bond be cancelled and for general relief. Note of evidence in the matter of the homologation of the 2 accounts of said succession 1st Vouchers filed with said account 2nd J. W. Reid, Clerk of the Parish Court in and for Union Parish, La. sworn says he was the acting clerk of the District Court in October 1867 has said account was filed on the 7th day of October 1867 and was duly advertised for more than thirty days by publication in a weekly newspaper in Union Parish, La. called the Union Record and by posting at the door of the Court House of said parish in the town of Farmerville and further that he was the acting clerk of the Parish Court in October 1868 and that a final was filed October 12th 1868 and has been advertised for more than ten days prior to this date by publication in a weekly newspaper published in said parish called the Union Record and by posting at the door of the Court house in the town of Farmerville in said parish and that there was no opposition to either account except what has been withdrawn as show by the [blank] on [blank] of the Court this day.
