Ford, Decd., Union Parish Louisiana Union Parish Louisiana Succession Book E, pp. 642 - 645 ================================================================================== NOTE: The record below proves that John M. Ford died in the Confederate Army, but it is not clear in which unit he served. A man named John S. Ford enlisted in Company E, 19th Louisiana Regiment in 1863 from Downsville, and he survived the war, serving until his parole at Meridian, Mississippi. At this time, it is now clear if John M. Ford served in another unit from Union Parish, or if he was the J. M. Ford who enlisted on 1 August 1862 at Bastrop, in adjoining Morehouse Parish Louisiana in Company C, 13th Battalion Louisiana Infantry, the Partisan Rangers. This man was present through 30 April 1863, but was killed in action on June 11th. ================================================================================== To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana.
