Ford, late of said parish decd. has a small Estate and that no one has applied or intends to apply for the Administration of the same. How therefore, it is ordered that Wm. C. Smith, parish Recorder &c of said Parish be and he is hereby authorized to make an Inventory and Appraisement of all the property belonging to the said Estate and due return thereof make to this office. Done and signed in office on this 28th day of March AD 1866. Thos. C. Lewis Clerk, District Court State of Louisiana Parish of Union I, David Henderson and I, M. L. Langley do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially appraise the property that may be presented to me belonging to the Estate of Nancy A. Ford, Decd. at its cash value. So help me God. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the 1st day of June AD one thousand eight hundred and sixty six pursuant to an order of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana and to me William C. Smith, Recorder &c in and for said Parish directed, commanding me to make an Inventory and appraisement of the property situated in the Parish of Union belonging to the Estate of Nancy A. Ford, Decd. late a resident of the Parish of Union and being assisted by David Henderson and M. L. Langley two good and lawful citizens of the Parish of Union who being duly appointed and sworn by me as appraisers and in the presence of two lawful and competent witnesses did proceed to make said Inventory and Appraisement as herein after set forth to wit: A tract of land situated in the Parish of Union known as the late residence of Mrs. Nancy A. Ford, Decd. containing eighty acres more or less with the improvements thereon appraised at $1.25 per acre amounting in the aggregate to one hundred dollars $100.00 This done and signed in the Parish of Union in the presence of Elijah Hardin and Simon Ward, witnesses of lawful age and domicile who signs with me Recorder this the 1st day of June AD 1866. The Administrator charges himself with the amount of the Inventory of said Estate filed in the Clerk’s office on the 2nd day of June Ad 1866 amounting to $100.00 The Administrator asks a credit for the following named amounts of debts against said Estate paid by him viz: Voucher No. 1 Amount of Recorders fees $100.00 Voucher No. 2 Amount of Printer’s fees 18.75 Voucher No. 3 Amount of Clerk’s fee 18.75 Voucher No. 4 Admr. Comm 2.50 4 receipts of E. H. Hardin for amount paid note __29.00 $99.05 Total amount of Estate $100.00 Total amount of charges __99.95 .05 To the Honorable Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the parish of Union, State of Louisiana. Your Petitioner Thomas C. Lewis, a resident of the Parish and State above written and Administrator of the Estate of Nancy A. Ford herewith files his final account of said Administration. He represents that the Estate is insolvent, that the only property that was inventoried as belonging to said Estate was a small tract of land valued at one hundred dollars, that the only debts due by the Estate which has any knowledge is the balance due on a note given by the deceased in favor of W. S. Spears or bearer for the sum of eleven hundred and nineteen and 38/100 dollars ($1119.38/100) now owned by Elijah H. Hardin that the privileged claims amounted to $50.95 leaving a balance in the hands of the Administrator of $59.05 which has been appropriated as a payment on the above mentioned note. Wherefore he prays that this his final account be duly advertised according to law and after all legal delays the same be allowed and homologated according to law and that he be released from all responsibilities in the premises. He further prays for all necessary orders and for general relief. Thos. C. Lewis State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union It is ordered and decreed that the above and foregoing account of Thomas C. Lewis, Administrator of the Estate of Nancy A. Ford, Decd. be advertised according to Law. Done and signed in office this 31st day of July AD 1866. J. W. Reid Clerk, District Court In the matter of the Homologation of the final account filed by Thomas C. Lewis, Administrator of the Estate of Nancy A. Ford, Decd. 1st Vouchers filed with account 2nd J. W. Reid, Clerk, District Court sworn says he was the acting clerk of the Court in July last, that this account was filed in the Clerk’s Office on this 31st day of July and has been advertised for more than thirty days prior to this date by publication in a weekly newspaper published in the Town of Farmerville called the Union Record and by posting at the door of the Court House in said Parish. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union I do hereby certify that the above and foregoing and be all the evidence adduced in the Homologation of the final account filed in my office by Thos. Reid Clerk, District Court State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union By reason of the Law and Evidence in the case and by further reason of the proper and legal advertisement having been made and no opposition being filed on the Homologation of this account, it is ordered, adjudged and decreed that this account be and is hereby allowed approved and homologated in all its parts according to Law.
