To the Honorable the Judge of the Probate Court in and for
the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana.
  The petition of Sofia Goulette, widow of Alexis Goulette,
decd. with respect represents unto your Honor that her
husband Alexis Goulette died about the year 1836 leaving as
his heirs two children issue of his marriage with your
petitioner viz. Edmund Goulette and Louisa Goulette, she
further represents that it is necessary for the interest of
said minors that there should be a Tutor appointed for said
minors.
  Wherefore your petitioner prays your honor to confirm your
Petitioner as Natural Tutrix to her minor children Edmund and
Louisa Goulette and for general relief in the premises and as
in duty bound &c.

Let the prayer of the Petitioner be granted and it is ordered
that Sophia Goulette be confirmed as Natural Tutrix of her
minor children Edmund and Louise Goulette upon her taking oath
as the law directs.
  Done and signed in open Court this 4th day of may AD 1843.

I do solemnly swear that I will to the best of my knowledge
and abilities discharge and perform all and singular the
duties incumbent on me as Natural Tutrix of Edmund and Louise
Goulette.  So help me God.

  Sworn to and subscribed before me this 18th day of
November 1843.

  Whereas Sophia Goulette has been confirmed as Natural
Tutrix of Edmund and Louise Goulette, minor children issue
by her marriage with Gabriel Goulette, Deceased and taken the
oath as prescribed by law.
  Now therefore she is hereby authorized and fully empowered
to discharge and perform all and singular the duties
appertaining to the said appointment according to law.
  In testimony whereof I have hereto signed my name and
affixed my seal of office on this 18th day of November
AD 1843.
