Now, therefore, it is ordered that an Inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the said Estate of Mrs. Mary Griffin, Deceased be made according to law. Done and signed in office this the 26th April 1862. Jas. L. I, James L. Guthrie, Clerk of the 11th District Court in and for said Parish together with F. H. Cann and J. P. Kelly, who being duly appointed by me as appraisers proceeded to make an inventory and appraisement of all the property belonging to the Estate of Mary Griffin, Decd., late a resident of this Parish. Said appraisers being first duly sworn by me the said Clerk, we proceeded to make the following inventory and appraisement as follows to wit: 40 acres of land described thus [blank] and improvements apprd. @ $3.50 per acre $140.00 2 bedsteads apprd. @ 1.50 1 wheel apprd. @ 2.50 1 pot rack apprd. @ .15 1 chop axe apprd. @ 1.50 5 bus. corn more or less apprd. @ 3.75 1 sow apprd. @ 5.00 1 cow apprd. @ 10.00 1 D. B. shot gun apprd. @ 8.00 1 churn apprd. @ .50 1 Bible apprd. @ 3.50 1 note on J. M. McGough and J. Funderburk [sic] and W. M. Griffin, good and lawful witnesses domiciled in the Parish and State aforesaid. Guthrie, Clerk of the 11th District Court and by virtue of the authority in me vested Administrator of the Estate of Mary A. Funderburk, Deceased in compliance with the advertisements which said advertisement having been duly posted according to law and the terms of sale been made known by reading in an audible voice, I proceeded to offer for sale on the 31st day of October 1858 the following described property and to sell the same to the following purchasers who were the last and highest bidders for and purchasers of said property to wit: A tract of land described thus: the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Sec. No. 7, Township No. 2, Range 2, East was purchased by W. Griffin @$3.50 per acre 140.00 W. Dean became the purchaser of the following to wit: 4 head sheep 8.00 1 shot gun 5.50 1 s. wheel 2.50 1 sow 5.25 21.25 Eli Owens bought: 1 cow and calf 15.00 5 bus. corn 3.00 18.00 J. E. Trimble bought bed and bedding 9.00 W. Griffin bought: 2 buckets .50 2 bedsteads .50 1.00 J. H. Horn bought: 1 churn and sheep shears .12 ½ 1 lot crockery .75 1 saddle .50 2 pots and rack 6.00 1 axe .12 ½ __8.75 $198.00 Now, therefore, I do hereby as Administrator of said Succession sell, grant and deliver unto the said purchasers and their heirs assigns forever all rights, title and interest in said property sold. I do hereby retain a special mortgage and vendors privilege on the land sold until the entire payment of the purchased price and interest and cost that may accrue on the same. In witness whereof I hereto sign that process verbal of sale in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, good and lawful citizens of the parish and State aforesaid this the 7th day of June 1862. L. Guthrie, Administrator of the Estate of Mary A. Griffin, Decd., late of said Parish respectfully herewith files his final account of his acts and doings in administering the said Estate up to the [blank] of AD 1863. He charges himself with the amount of the Inventory of said Estate taken in April 1862 $257.40 He prays credit for the following debts which he has paid to wit: Voucher No. 1 J. A. Bransford, acct. 15.00 Voucher No. 2 W. Dean, acct. 2.50 Voucher No. 3 B. H. Dillard 7.00 Voucher No. 4 J. L. Guthrie 16.20 Voucher No. 5 1 Bible Returned to Estate 3.50 Administrator also asks a credit for the following notes and acts which he returns to wit: 1 note on W. M. Griffin & F. H. Cann 140.00 1 note on Joe McGough 21.00 1 acct. on J. R.
