Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the thirtieth (30) day of October AD 1867 one thousand eight hundred and eighty six pursuant to an order of the Honorable 11th Judicial District Court in and for said Parish and to me William C. Smith, Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public in and for said Parish directed authorizing me to make an Inventory and Appraisement of the property belonging to the Estate of Robert Horton, Decd. situated in the said Parish of Union and being assisted by D. F. Williams and I. W. Bell, male citizens of lawful age and domicile who being duly appointed and sworn by me as appraisers and in the presence of witnesses proceeded to make said Inventory and Appraisement at my office in the Town of Farmerville as herein after set forth: A tract of land situated in the Parish of Union numbered as follows to wit: The South half of the North East Quarter and the North West quarter of the South East quarter of Section 13 township 19 North of Range 1 East containing in all one hundred and Twenty acres more or less with improvements thereon. Appraised to be worth in currency one dollar and fifty cents per acre amounting to one hundred and eighty dollars ($180.00) Thus done and signed in my office in the Town of Farmerville in the presence of Nathan Hite and David Arent, witnesses and me Recorder this the day and date above written. Smith, Recorder Be it remembered that on the 8th December AD 1866 in presence of the Author9ity vested in me by law as administrator of Robert Horton, Decd., I James W. Reid, Decd. offer for sale to the highest and last bidder as follows: Robert H. Henry bot. – 120 acres of land more or less described as follows to wit: The south half of the North East quarter and the North West quarter of the South East quarter of Section 13 Township 14, North of Range one east $261.00 Now therefore this being all the property belonging to the said Estate and the above named purchaser having complied with the terms of the sale, I, James W. Reid by virtue of the authority vested in me as above stated, I do by these presents sell, transfer and deliver unto the said purchaser all the property purchased by him respectively quaranteeing all the rights to him vested in said Estate. In testimony whereof, I hereto sign my name on this 11th day of December AD 1866. ATTEST: W. W. Guthrie J. W. Reid, Admr. T. C. Lewis To the honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The Petition of James W. Reid, a resident of the Parish and State above written respectfully represents that he is Clerk of the District Court for said Parish and Ex Officio Administrator of the Estate of Robert Horton, Decd. late of said Parish and he herewith files his final account as Administrator aforesaid. He represents that He is chargeable with the inventoried value of said Estate amounting to $180.00 Also the amount which property sold in excess of Inventory ___81.00 $261.00 He asks credits for the following debts against said Estate paid by him. Voucher 1 Amount Recorders fees $6.00 Voucher 2 Amount Printers fees 22.50 Voucher 3 amount Clerks fees ___9.35 $37.85 Recapitulation Total amount of Debits $261.00 Total amount of Credit ___37.85 $223.15 Leaving the sum of Two hundred and twenty three dollars and fifteen cents in his hands belonging to said Estate. He further represents that Mrs. Elizabeth Horton, the widow of and partner in community with said deceased, claims the whole amount of the assets of said Estate under the law providing for the widow and orphans and he has paid into hr hands the said amount of $223.15 for which he has her receipt and which he herewith files the same for reference and greater certainty. Whereof he prays that this his final account be advertised according to Law and after all legal delays that the same be allowed and homologated in all its parts and he be relieved from any future responsibility in the premises. He also prays for all necessary orders and for general relief &c. Tompkins and Lewis, Attys. State of Louisiana 11th District Court Parish of Union Let the prayer of the Petitioner be granted and it is ordered that the within final account filed by J. W. Reid as Administrator of the Estate of Robert Horton, decd. be advertised according to law. Done and signed in office this 2nd day of December 1866. J. W. Reid, Clerk State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union Succession of Robert Horton, Decd. Whereas I have been informed that Robert Horton late of said Parish of Union Deceased has a small Estate and that no on has applied or intends to apply for the Administration of the same. Now therefore, it is ordered that Wm. C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public of said parish be and he is hereby commanded and authorized to make an Inventory and appraisement of all the property belonging to the said Estate of Robert Horton, deceased and due return make to this office. Done and signed in office this 3rd day of October AD 1866. J. W. Reid Clerk, District Court State of Louisiana 11th District Court Parish of Union In the matter of the Homologation of the final account filed by J. W. Reid, Clerk and Ex Officio Admr. of the Estate of Robert Horton, Decd. 1st Statement of Administration filed 2nd Jas. S. Guthrie, Depy. Clerk, sworn says that the final account mentioned above was filed December 31st 1866 and has been duly and legally advertised for more than thirty days prior to this date in the following manner to wit: By inserting in the Union Record, a weekly newspaper published in the town of Farmerville, La. and by posting a copy of said advertisement at the Court House door of the said Parish and State and that no opposition has been filed to the Homologation of said final account.
