Howell, Decd., Union Parish Louisiana ================================================================================= NOTE: Descendents state that R. C. Howell's name was 'RICHMOND', but the succession book has 'RICHARD'. The attorney or court clerk must have erred in recording the document or understanding his actual given name. R. C. Howell was aged 37 in 1860, putting him in the category of men who did not enlist in the Confederate Army in the early years of the war. His death in June 1864 suggests that he died while in the military, but I have not found any record of his service. ================================================================================= To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court and for Union Parish, La.
