Jones ================================================================================== To the Honorable Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court in & for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The petition of William B. Jones, a resident of your said Parish and State respectfully represents with your honor that his sister, Martha A. Jones of same residence is a minor without any legal representation. This, his said Minor Sister has rights in the State of Arkansas and elsewhere that makes it necessary for her to have a tutor appointed by your honorable Court and that her said rights consisting of real estate and money may be attended to that the petitioner being a brother of said minor and desirous of securing his said Sister rights, thinks he is entitled to said appointment of Tutor. Wherefore petitioner prays your honor that this application be advertised according to law and then being no opposition, he be appointed by your honorable court tutor to his MinorSister Martha A. Jones upon his giving bond as the laws requires and finely for general relief. R. W. Futch, Atty. State of Louisiana 12th Judl. Dist. Court Parish of Union The premises considered it is ordered that the above application of Wm. B. Jones to be appointed tutor to his Minor Sister Martha A. Jones be advertised according to law. Jones be and he is hereby appointed Tutor of the Minor, Martha A. Jones, upon taking the oath prescribed by law and giving bond with good security. It is further ordered Alexandria H. Granger be and he is hereby appointed under Tutor to said minor upon taking the oath prescribed by laws. Done and Signed in office on this the 23rd day of April A.D. 1860. Thos. C. Lewis, C. Clrk. Jones, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on me as Tutor to Minor Sister Martha A. Jones to the best of my abilities and understanding. Court Parish of Union Whereas William B. Jones has been duly and legally appointed Tutor to his minor sister Martha A. Jones and has given bond and good security and taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore the said W. B. Jones is hereby duly and legally authorized and empowered to discharge all and singular the duties appertaining to said appointment according to Law. Court Parish of Union Know all men by these that we William B. Jones as principal and A. H. Granger as his Security are held and firmly held bound unto Robert W. Richardson, Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish and State aforesaid for the time being or to his successors in office in the full and just sum of [blank] The true and faithful payment whereof will and truly to be made. We bind ourselves our heirs assigns administrators Executors and legal representatives firmly by these presents dated Farmerville, La. April 23rd 1860. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said William B. Jones has been duly and legally appointed Tutor to the Minor Martha A. Jones and he has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore if the said Wm. B. Jones shall faithfully and impartially all the duties incumbent on him in his said capacity and shall faithfully account to the Judge of said Court for all moneys or property from this or any other State and shall render yearly to the said Judge of said Court. A true and faithful accounts of all his acts and doings in and about said matter of Tutorship and shall faithfully look after the body of said minor and study her interest in all things and shall whenever legally required so to do pay over all Sums of money and deliver all the property of whatever nature to the said minor or to the proper person or persons to receive the same then and in that case the above obligation to be null and void otherwise to be and remain in full force effect against the same principals and his same securities.
