Jones, Decd., Union Parish Louisiana Minor Heir of Thomas D. Jones and S. Jane Beaird Union Parish Louisiana Succession Book G, pp. 345 - 349 ================================================================================= ================================================================================= NOTE: William Absolom Jones (c1861 - 1896/1897) was the son of Thomas D. Jones (c1832 - 1860s) and S. Jane Beaird (c1830 - 1861/1870). Thomas D. Jones worked as a day laborer on the plantaion of Col. Sidney Henry Griffin in 1860, along with Jane's brother William Beaird, Jr. It appears likely that Jones perished while serving in the Confederate Army, but we have found no proof of his military service. By 1870, Jones lived with his grandparents, William Beaird, Sr. (1794 - 1880s) and Zilphia Dunn (c1794 - 1870s), who together with their single children Stephen J. Beaird and Elizabeth Beaird, raised Jones. William A. Jones married on 12 January 1888 in Union Parish to Elnora Sessions (1868 - 1953). They had three children prior to Jones' premature death in 1896 or 1897. In January 1898, Susan Sessions Jones remarried to her first husband's first cousin, Stephen Jackson Beaird, Jr. ================================================================================= ================================================================================= To the Honorable the Judge of the Parish Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana.
