(2) Census records show Pamelia's given name as "Panelopy" in 1850 and "Permelia" in 1860. Her husband was listed as "P. S. Kennedy" in 1850 and as "R. Kenedy" in 1860. The censuses give conflicting ages for him as well. He was 40 in 1850, born in South Carolina, whereas in 1860, his age was given as 44, also born in South Carolina. Pamelia was listed as 34 in 1850 and 44 in 1860, both times born in Georgia. ================================================================================= ================================================================================= Estate of Pamelia Kenerdy, Deceased To the Honorable the Judge of the Eleventh Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of Leroy H. Kenedy a resident of your said Parish respectfully represents that his mother Pamelia Kenerdy, decd. late the wife of Pasten R. Kenerdy, a resident of said Parish departed this life on or about the 11th day of July AD 1864 leaving an Estate consisting of real Estate and personal property and the following heirs to wit: William H. H. Kenerdy, Mary E. Kenerdy, Leroy H. Kenerdy (Petitioner), Martha P. Kenerdy, John W. Kenerdy, Daniel N. Kenerdy, Nancy G. Kenerdy, Alabama S. Kenerdy, Elizabeth D. Kenerdy being the issue of a lawful marriage between deceased and the Pasten R. Kenerdy, the five last of which are minors. Petitioner represents that the deceased were separate in property from her husband. He further represents that my steps have been taken to administer the said Estate. He therefore prays that an inventory and appraisement may be had according to law and that after due proceedings had, he may be appointed Administrator of the said Estate and Tutor to said minors to wit: John W., Daniel N., Alabama S. Kenerdy and that W. H. H. Kenerdy be appointed Under Tutor and for such other orders and decrees as may be necessary. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union The premises considered and by reason of the proper legal advertisement having been made, it is hereby ordered, adjudged and decreed that Leroy H. Kenerdy be and he is hereby appointed and confirmed Administrator of the Estate of Pamelia Kennerdy, Decd. and further that the said Leroy H. Kennerdy be appointed Tutor to the minor heirs of the said Estate and further that W. H. H. Kennerdy be appointed Under Tutor to the minors and upon their giving bond with good security and taking the oath required by law that letters of Administration and Tutorship do issue to them as prayed for. Done and signed in office this 7th day of December AD 1868. J. W. Smith, Parish Recorder &c proceed to make an Inventory and appraisement of all the property belonging to said Estate and due return thereof make to this office according to law. H. Kennedy as Securities are held and firmly bound unto the Honorable J. D. Watson, Judge of the eleventh Judicial District court in and for Union Parish, La. for the time being or to his successors in office in the just and full sum of Two thousand Dollars to a true and full payment thereof we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and legal representatives firmly and in solido by the presence. Dated at Farmerville, la. this 7th day of December AD 1867. The condition of the above objection is such that whereas the said Leroy H. Kennedy has been duly and legally appointed and confirmed as Administrator of the Estate of Pamelia Kennedy, Deceased and Tutor to the minors of said Estate and he has taken the oath required by law. Now therefore, if the said Leroy H. Kennedy shall faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on him as Administrator of the said Estate and shall render to the Judge of said court of law and correct account of all his acts and doings in and about said Estate and shall when legally required so to do, pay over all sums of money and deliver all the property belonging to the said Estate to the proper person or persons to receive the same then this obligation to be null and void.
