John M. Lee was born on 24 July 1829 near Snow Hill, and he married Mary Jane Taylor (14 June 1831 - 18 Oct 1904). ====================================================================================== ====================================================================================== 213 Succession of J. Taylor [must mean LEE] a resident of Ouachita parish, Louisiana with respect represents unto your Hon Court that his beloved father John M. Lee Sr, departed this life at his residence in Union Parish, La., on the 30th day of June 1893 intestate, leaving a small estate, consisting of per- sonal and movable property and also oweing some debts. He shows that the deceased left a widow in community and sons and daught- ers. He represents unto the Court that an administration is necessary of his said fathers estate. Wherefore petitioner prays that this applications be filed and notice of its filing given according to law: that an inventory of his effects be made by B. F. Pleasant Dy Clerk and after the proper legal delays that your petitioner be duly appointed and qualified as administrator of his deceased fathers estate. Lee, resident of Ouachita Parish, La, and administrator of the Succession of Jno. M. Lee, Sr. deceased, with respect presents herewith- a final Account of his acts as Administrator of said succession. He shows the Court that he should be charged with the amount of the Inventory and the excess of the sale of the ef- fects of said Estate over said Inventory, which his amount to the sum of Two Hundrend Fifty two + 80/100 Dollars. That the debts against said Estate, which are privileged amount to one Hun- dred and Forty Three + 94/100 Dollars and these should be paid in full. That after the pay- ment of the privileged claims, there will 224 be only One Hundred and Eight + 89/100 Dollars to distribute amoung the ordinary creditors and the debts acknowledged in favor of these creditors amount to Twelve hundred Ninety and 15/100 Dollars and the One hundred Eight + 86/100 dis- tributed amoung the creditors of this amount will only pay $.084384 on each dollar of same amount-That all of this is more fully and particularly set forth in the itemized account annexed and filed herein. The Administrator shows the court that all of the claims he has allowed on this account, are, as far as he is ___ to ascertain correct. charges against said succession and should be allowed by the Court and order paid, according to the prorating set forth in this account. Lee Admrs. sworn says: The final acct- herein filed Jany 16 1894 so far as my knowle__ goes is correct + the claims allowed thereon and just debts against the Estate, except the acc of Dr Barnes marked No 1 of Ordinary debts- ap- pears on the acct $37.50 + should be $27.50 None of the debts have yet been paid. The difference in Dr Barnes acct would make a difference in the percentage due all the ordin__ creditors. R.B.Dawkins sworn for Admin says: Some the claims against the Estate have been allow- ed on this account are notes + others open acct - The notes have been exhibited to me. Some of which I have in my possession + were signed by J. M. Lee Sr.- The accts are all sworn to as to their correctness by the creditors with the exception of the acct Dr Jarmeson + G.W.Smith + J.C.Montgomery This refers to the ordinary debts. Jas M.
