Milling, late of this Parish deceased that may be formed and situated within your said Parish of Union and make a return of the same to this office by a certified copy of your proceedings. You are hereby authorized and required in pursuance of a decree of the Honorable the Court of Probates of the Parish of Ouachita to sell all the personal Estate comprising the Estate and Succession of John N. Milling situated in your said parish as Inventoried by your Honor except the Rights and Credits. Conditions of sale for all sums of twenty dollars and under cash, for all sums over that amount upon a credit until 1st May 1841. Purchaser to give notes with good personal security with interest at 10 per cent from maturity and make a return of your proceedings. Lamy, Judge State of Louisiana Probate Sale Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the 9th November AD 1840 that I John Taylor, Parish Judge and Ex Officio Judge of Probates and Auctioneer in and for said parish and State in pursuance of a decree of the Honorable the Court of Probates of the Parish of Ouachita in and authorizing to me directed by said Court, I have at the Town of Farmerville proceeded to sell all the personal Estate comprising the Estate and Succession of John N. Milling situated in my said Parish. Except the rights and credits after the normal and legal advertisements at three public places in said parish there being no Court House yet built from the 28th of October to the 9th November AD 1840. Conditions of sale twenty dollars and under, Cash for all sums over that amount upon a credit until first of May 1841. Purchasers to give notes with good peraonal security with interest at 20 per cent from maturity. Whereupon after due proclamation the following persons became purchasers as the highest and last bidder upon said conditions to wit: Sarah Milling, widow and Administratrix of the said John N. Milling decd. having come forward and taken the property at the inventoried and appraisement. November 9th AD 1840.
