The Petition of Nancy Moore, a resident of your said Parish and State with respect represents unto your Honor that William Moore, her husband died in the month of May or June last possessed of some property consisting of personal property, rights and credits. She says he also left the following heirs, all minors but one, viz. William S. Moore; Mary Ann, wife of Washington Dutton; Sarah Ann Moore; Rebecca Moore; Alexander Moore; Eliza Katharine Moore; Nancy Elizabeth Moore and Thomas Washington Moore. She prays that she be appointed Administrator to the Estate of her deceased husband. She further prays that an inventory be made of the effects comprising said Estate. She prays to be confirmed as Natural tutor to her said minor children and that W. Seaberry Davis be appointed Under Tutor to said children. She prays for all and every order to be made in the premises that may be necessary &c. N. M. & H. R. Bryan, Attys. Let the prayer of the Petitioner be granted and it is farther ordered that an inventory be made of said Estate and that Petitioner be appointed Administrator of said Estate upon her taking the oath and giving bond as the law directs and that she be confirmed Natural Tutor of her said minor children and that W. Seaberry Davis be appointed Under Tutor to said minors. Done and signed in Chambers on this 4th day of November AD 1845. John Taylor Judge of Probate State of Louisiana Parish of Union I, Nancy Moore, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Administrator of the Estate and Succession of William Moore, Deceased, also as Tutrix of my minor children in issue by my marriage with the said William Moore to the best of my abilities. Davis do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Under Tutor of the minor children of William Moore, Deceased to the best of my abilities. In testimony whereof said parties, appraisers have signed their names together with the widow who gave in the property and undersigned witnesses and me Judge on this 4th of November AD 1845. N. H. Davis John Taylor, Parish Judge Nancy Moore Union Parish, Louisiana at a Probate Sale began and finished by me Nancy Moore duly authorized by John Taylor, Parish and Probate Judge after legal advertisement the article appraised all sold as follows except one spinning wheel which would not sell for the appraisement and was afterward offered and sold for what it would fetch in cash, to wit, 27 head hogs to Nancy Moore $27.00 1 horse $20, farming utensils $10 30.00 2 beds, $10, 1200 ft. lumber $11 23.00 1 spinning wheel $2.50, 1 spinning wheel $1.06 ¼ 3.56 ¼ 1 shot gun to George Feazel ___5.00 Amount of Sale $86.56 ¼ Also in the above returns there was six cows and calves appraised which were claimed by William S. Moore and not sold. To the Honorable John Taylor, Judge of the Probate Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The Administratrix of the Estate of William Moore, Deceased, late of your said Parish and State herewith presents the account of sale of the Succession of William Moore, Decd. And prays the same to be Homologated and made final and for all order necessary in the premises &c. N. M. & H. R. Bryan, Attys. The Curatrix or Administratrix of the Estate of William Moore, Deceased late of your said Parish and State makes this her return of the debts rendered in against said Estate. Privilege Claims 1 Drs. The Petition of Nancy Moore, Administratrix of the Estate of William Moore, Deceased late of your said Parish hereto files a statement of Debts of said Succession so far as they have come to her knowledge. She says according to an order of your Honor to settle in a summary manner said Estate, she has proceeded to settle the same as far as the means she had in her hands. She alleges that said Estate was insolvent and only able to pay 33 per cent on the whole of the Debts all of which she prays that this statement be received and all orders taken on it that may be necessary as in duty bound. N. M. & H. R. Bryan, Attys. The Curatrix of the Estate of William Moore, Decd. late of your said Parish of Union, Louisiana herewith presents this her statement of accounts showing what effects she has in her hands at this time belonging to said Estate to wit: The amount of the sale comprising the Succession of William Moore, Deceased 27 head of hogs $27, 1 horse $20 $47.00 Farming utensils $10, 2 beds $10 20.00 1200 feet lumber $11, 1 spinning wheel $2.50 13.50 1 wheel $1.06 ¼, 1 shot gun $5 ____6.06 ¼ $86.56 ¼ To the Honorable John Taylor, Judge of the Probate Court in and for the Parish of Union, La. The petition of Nancy Moore, Administatrix of the Estate of William Moore, Decease, late of your said Parish and State with respect files her accounts or assets of said Estate. She says it is insolvent only able to pay 33 per cent on the dollar. She says she has paid out at this rate all the funds of said Estate in her as Administratrix. She says that said Estate is now settled up according to law. She therefore prays you Honor to homologate and make these proceedings final and that she be from this time dismissed from the Administrationship of said Estate and for any and all orders that may be necessary in the premises as in duty bound &c. N. M. & H. R. Bryan, Attys. Let the prayer of the petitioner be granted and by farther reason of the legal and usual advertisements having been made for more than ten days and there being no opposition, it is ordered, adjudged and decreed that the within statements of Debts and Accounts be approved and Homologated as set forth and that the Administratrix be discharged.
