Oddly, his military papers give two enlistment dates and places - the first on 20 March 1862 at Providence, Louisiana, and the second on 27 June 1862 in Union Parish. He was listed as present on the muster rolls from June 1862 to June 1863. The muster roll for July and August 1863 listed him as killed at Jackson, Mississippi on 12 July 1863. He is probably the A. Parker, born about 1837 in Mississippi, who is listed on the 1860 census as living near Marion; in his household are Thomas J. Head. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for Union Parish, Louisiana.
