Plummer ================================================================================= To the Honorable the Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The petition of Gabriel R. Plummer a resident of the Parish & State aforesaid, respectfully represents that he is an emancipated minor above the age of 18 years; That Uriah Bass is by virtue of appointment from your said Court Tutor for Petitioner . Petitioner further alleges that he is desirous of being dispensed from the time prescribed by law for attaining the age of majority. Further that he is presumptive heir to and has a fifth interest in the Estate of Gabriel N. Benson, late of said Parish. Whose succession has just been opened and that your petitioner has other property which he desires to administer for himself all of which he believes he is capable of doing as if he had attained majority. The premises considered he prays an order from your honorable court directing William C. Smith, Parish Recorder and ex officio Notary Public to convoke and hold a family meeting according to law to advise in regard to his emancipation. This said meeting be held at Farmerville, on the 28th day of November AD 1860 and comprise of the following friends [blank] and further that the tutor Uriah Bass be cited to show cause, if any why petitioner Should not be emancipated and for all other orders Necessary in the premises for general relief. Plummer do hereby give service of the within petition and acknowledge citation; and answer, give my consent and am willing for my Ward Gabriel R. Plummer to have the time for attaining the age of majority despised with, believing him as capable of managing is property as he will be after majority. Uriah Bass, Tutor This November AD 1860. Smith Parish Recorder and ex-officio Notary Public, convoke a family meeting according to Law, to advise whether or not Gabriel R. Plummer a minor above the age of eighteen years is capable of administering his estate; and whether or not he shall be dispensed from the time required to attain the age of majority. It is ordered that the tutor of said minor Uriah Bass be cited to show cause if any why said minor should not be emancipated. It is further ordered that said meeting be composed of the following friends of the minor: H. Regenberg, F. H. Cann, W. W. Guthrie, Jacob Shlenker and William B. Guthrie J. Shlenker W. H. Carson Sate of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the 28th day of November AD 1860. In pursuance of an order of the Honl. 12th Judl. District Court in and for the Parish of Union & State of Louisiana bearing date herewith and to me William C. Smith, Parish Recorder & Ex-officio notary Public Directed. I caused to come before me at my office in the Town of Farmerville the following persons all being residents of the Parish of Union, La. To Wit: Henry Regenburg, William H. Carson, Wesley W. Guthrie, Frederick H. Cann & Jacob Shlenker convokes as a family meeting for the purpose of advising and recommending in regard as to whether or not Gabriel R. Plummer a minor over the age of 18 years is capable of administering his own estate and whether or not he shall be dispensed from time required to attain the age of majority. The above citizens being friends of the said minor Gabriel R. Plummer said numbers first being duly sworn by me the said Recorder, proceeded to deliberate on the matters and things as above set forth, and after mature deliberation they advised and recommend that said Minor Gabriel R. Plummer be emancipated and authorized to administer his estate in the same way and manner as though he had of mind at the age of majority (21 years). In testimony whereof I have caused said members to sign the process verbal with me the said Recorder and in the presence of James M. Underwood and Thos. C. Lewis lawful competent witnesses called for the purpose, who have also signed with said members and me the said Recorder on this the 28th day of November AD 1860. ATTEST: H. Regenburg J. M. Richardson Judge 12th Dist. Emancipation of Gabriel R. Plummer, Minor 12th Judicial District Court Parish of Union, Louisiana By reason of the law and the evidence in the premises being inform of Gabriel R. Plummer and by the further reason of the advise of a family meeting duly convoked and held according to Law to advise thereon to the same effect. It is ordered adjudged and decreed that the said minor Gabriel R. Plummer shall be dispensed from the time required by Law to attain his majority and that he be and he is hereby fully authorized empowered to administer his estate and to receive and manage any other property which he now is or hereafter may be in possession of and to do all other acts and things necessary in the administration of his property, to contract and do all other lawful acts and things which one who has attained the full age of majority may do. It is further ordered and decreed that the proceedings of Family meeting held before W. C. Smith, Parish recorder and ex officio notary Public for the parish of Union, La.
