The petition of William S. Pryor, a resident of your said Parish and State would respectfully represent that he is the father of the following minors to wit: Thomas B. Pryor, James W. C. Pryor, Jesse S. Pryor and Charles J. Pryor. That their mother now deceased left certain property real and personal belonging to her Estate. That in order to protect the interest of said minors, a family meeting is necessary. Wherefore your petitioner prays that a family meeting consisting of the following named persons to wit: B. S. Pryor, W. R. Pryor, Geo. A. Killgore, Mrs. N. J. Heard, and Tilany B. Glasgow be convoked according to law to deliberate, recommend and advise concerning the interest of aforesaid minor heirs in the premises and for such other orders and decrees as are necessary to represent and for general relief. J. E. Trimble, Atty. Premises considered, it is ordered that W. C. Smith, Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public proceed to make inventory of the property real and personal belonging to the within named minors and due return made to this office. Smith, Recorder and Ex Officio Notary Public convoke a family meeting composed of the persons named therein for the purpose prayed for herein and due return of the doings of said family meeting made to this office. Smith, Recorder State of Louisiana Parish of Union Be it remembered that on this the ninth day of February one thousand eight hundred and seventy one pursuant to an order of the Judge of the Parish Court in and for said Parish and to me William C. Smith, Recorder and Ex Officio, Notary Public in and for said parish denoted issued on the petition of W. S. Pryor authorizing and commanding me to convoke a family meeting composed of the following named persons: B. S. Pryor, W. K. Pryor, George A. Killgore, Mrs. N. J. Heard and Tiluny B. Glasgow, relatives and friends of the following named minors, Thomas B. Pryor, James W. C. Pryor, Jesse S. Pryor and Charles J. Pryor for the purpose of giving their advice with regard to the interest of said minors said family being first duly sworn by me proceeded to give their opinion. First, they advise and recommend that George A. Killgore be appointed tutor for said minors on complying with the law in such cases made and provided and further it is the wish of the family meeting that W. S. Pryor the father of said minors remain the custodian of said minor children until they arrive to the age of majority. The Tutor having the control of the property belonging to said minors. The family further recommend that Benjamin S. Pryor be appointed Under tutor and they further recommend that all of the personal and perishable property in which said minors have an interest be sold at public sale by the Tutor (except the cotton) which be delivered in Farmerville and sold for the best market price for cash. The other personal property be sold on a credit until the first day of January 1872. Purchasers giving their notes with approved security with eight per cent interest after maturity until paid and that the tutor be authorized to rent the firm for the present year. In testimony of which, I have caused said family to sign their names hereto in presence of J. E. Trimble and W. S. Glasgow State of Louisiana Parish of Union By reason of the law and the evidence and by further reason of the advice of the family meeting duly convoked by order of the Honorable the Judge of the parish Court in and for said Parish before W. C. Smith, Parish Recorder, it is hereby ordered, adjudged and decreed that the proceedings of said family meeting be homologated in all their part. That George A. Kilgore be appointed Tutor and Benj. S. Pryor Under Tutor upon them complying with the conditions prescribed by law and that the property be sold as advised in family meeting. Pryor, decd. making fifteen hundred and sixty eight & 33/100 dollars $1568.53 Having completed the foregoing inventory and appraisement, I have closed the same. In testimony whereof, I have caused said appraisers to sign their names hereto with me, Recorder, and in presence of F. B. Glasgow and Jordon G. Smith, Recorder $980.30 3/4/100 Know all men by these presents that we George A. Kilgore as principal and Jon. M. Lee as his security are held and bound unto the Honorable T. B. Tompkins, Judge of the Parish Court of Union Parish, La. and unto his successors in office in the just and full sum of Nine hundred and eighty 30 3/4/100 dollars to the payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators and legal representatives firmly and in solido by these premises. Dated at Farmerville, La. this 9th day of February AD 1871. Now the consideration of this obligations such that whereas the above bonders George A. Kilgore has been recommended by the advise of a family meeting convoked before W. C. Smith, Parish Recorder of Union Parish, La. to the appointment of Tutor to the following named minor heirs of the Estate of Tolitha C. Pryor, decd. to wit: Thos. B., Jas. W., Jesse S. and Charles Pryor and he the said George A. Killgore gives this his obligation for the faithful performance of his duties as Tutor to said minors. Now therefore, if the above bounders George A. Kilgore shall faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties encumbered on him as Tutor to the aforesaid minors and shall at all times diligently look after the interest of said minors and shall render to the Judge of said Court a full and complete account of all his acts in and about said Tutorship and shall when legally required so to do pay over all sums of money and deliver all the property belonging to the said minors to the proper person or persons to receive the same then this obligation to be null and void. Killgore has been legally appointed and confirmed as the Tutor of the following named minor heirs of the Estate of Tolitha C. Pryor, Deceased to wit: Thos. B., James W., Jesse S. and Charles C. Pryor and he has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore the said George A. Killgore is hereby duly and legally authorized and empowered to do and perform all the acts appertaining to the said appointment according to law.
