The petition of Henrietta Reppond, a resident of said Parish, widow of Lewis Reppond, Decd., late of said Parish, respectfully represents that her said husband Lewis Reppond departed this life at his residence in said parish intestate on or about the fifth day of may Ad 1865 leaving an estate consisting of land and personal property rights and credits which is all property in community between deceased and petitioner also minor heirs to wit: Alfred Lewis Aaron[?] Isaac and Samuel Reppond, Sarah, wife of Leroy Finley, Ann Catherine and Jane Reppond one of which to wit Samuel Reppond being a minor all of them the legitimate issue of the marriage of Petitioner with deceased. Petitioner represents that being partner in the community, she is entitled to the Administration and therefore prays that in Inventory and appraisement may be had according to law and after due proceedings that she may be appointed Administratrix of the said Estate of Louis Reppond and also that she may be appointed and confirmed Natural Tutrix to her son Samuel Reppond and for such other orders and decrees in the premises as may be necessary. Smith, Parish Recorder &c be and he is hereby authorized to make an inventory and appraisement of all the property belonging to the Estate of said Lewis Reppond, Decd. and due return thereof make to this office. D. Watkins, Judge of the 11th Judicial District court, and for Union Parish, La. for the time being or to his successors in office in the just and full sum of Three Thousand one hundred and fifty $3150.00 Dollars to the true and faithful payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, assigns and legal representatives firmly by these presents. Dated at Farmerville, La. on this 2nd say of December AD 1865. The consideration of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounden Henrietta Reppond has been duly appointed Administratrix of the Estate of Louis Reppond, Decd and she has given bond with good security and has ten the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore, if the said Henrietta Reppond shall faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on her as Administratrix of the said Estate and shall render to the Judge of the said Court a true and correct account of all acts and doings in and about said Estate and State whenever legally required so to do pay over all sums of money and deliver all the property of whatsoever nature belonging to the said Estate to the proper person or persons to receive the same, then the obligation to be null and void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue against the principal and said securities. The petition of Henrietta Reppond, Administratrix of the Estate of Louis Reppond, Decd. respectfully represents that in administering said Estate, it is necessary to sell the personal property belonging to the same as soon as can be done. She therefore prays for an order of the Honorable Court ordering her as Administratix to sell all the personal property of said Estate as soon as the legal advertisements shall have been made and for all further orders necessary in the premises and for general relief &c. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union In the matter of the Estate of Louis Reppond, Decd. the premises considered and Law and evidence being in favor thereof, it is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed that after the legal advertisements and delays, the prayer of the foregoing being hereby granted, the Administratrix of said Estate do proceed to sell all of the personal property of the Estate according to acts 990 & 991 of the Code of Practice. The petition of Henrietta Reppond, Administratrix of the Estate of Louis Reppond, Decd. a resident of your Parish and State above written respectfully represents that she has herewith filed a full and final account of Administration of the said Estate of said Louis Reppond, Decd. from which it appears that the balance due by the Administratrix is [blank]. Petitioner further avows that she is the surviving widow in community. Her said husband died intestate. That one half of the Estate it being community is hers and by the law of the state she is entitled to the [unreadable] of the other half during her Natural life, then to go to the following heirs of Louis Reppond, Decd. they all being the issue of the marriage of said decd. with petitioner viz. Alfred, Lewis, Aaron[?], Isaac and Samuel Reppond, also Sarah, the wife of Leroy F. Finley, Anna Catharine and Jane Reppond. Wherefore she prays that this her final account be advertised according to law and after the legal delays it be approved and homologated and that petitioner have judgment recognizing her as [unreadable] of one half of the said property and further recognizing her right to the [unreadable] of the other matters during her natural life. That all parties in interest be duly cited hereto for all orders and decrees necessary in the premises and for general relief &c. Jno. L. Barrett, Atty. Lewis Clerk, District Court In the matter of the Homologation of the Final Account filed by Mrs. Henrietta Reppond as Administratrix of the Estate of Louis Reppond, Decd. 1st Vouchers filed with said account. 2nd Thos. C. Lewis, Clerk of the District court sworn says that the said final account was filed in the Clerk’s office of the parish of Union, La. on the 16th day of February Ad 1866 and has been duly and legally advertised for more than thirty days prior to this date by posting at the court house door and publication in newspaper called the Union Record and that there has been no opposition to the homologation of the same.
