The petition of Synthia Robinson of your aforesaid Parish and State respectfully represents unto your Honorable Court that Samuel M. Robinson departed this life in testate sometime about the middle of June 1863 at his residence in said Parish leaving an Estate consisting of land, personal and perishable property, rights and credits with some debts also leaving your petitioner, his surviving spouse, and six children, the issue of his marriage with Petitioner to wit: James M., Josephine, Samuel M., Elizabeth M., S. Paul and Owen Robinson. Petitioner avers that an administration is necessary and that she has the best right to the same. Wherefore she prays that this her application be advertised according to law and after the legal delays, she be appointed Administratrix of the Estate of Samuel M. Robinson, Decd., that an Inventory of the said Estate be ordered, that Petitioner thereto be confirmed Natural Tutrix to her aforesaid children, they all being minors for all orders and decrees necessary in the premises and for general relief &c. Jno. Barrett Atty. For Petr. State of Louisiana 11th District Court Parish of Union It is ordered that the within account to advertised according to law and further that W. C. Smith, Parish Recorder &c be and he is hereby ordered and authorized to make an Inventory of all the property belonging to said Estate and due return thereof make without delay. Further that J. Synthia Robinson be and she is hereby appointed & confirmed Natural Tutrix to the minor children and upon her making oath according to law, that letters do issue to her. Synthia Robinson do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Administratrix of the Estate of S. M. Guthrie, Clerk State of Louisiana 11th District Court Parish of Union Know all men by these presents that we Jacynthia C. Robinson as principal and [blank] as her security are held and firmly bound unto W. R. Egan, Judge of the 11th District court for the time being or to his successors in office in the just and full sum of [blank] to the true and faithful payment thereof [unreadable] truly to be make, we bind ourselves, our heirs, assigns, and legal representatives firmly by these presents. Dated Farmerville, La. July 1863. The conditions of this obligation is such that whereas the above bound Jacynthia Robinson has today been duly and legally appointed Administratrix of the Estate of S. W. Robinson, Decd. and she hath taken this oath prescribed by law. Now therefore if the said Jacynthia C. Robinson shall faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on her as said administrative capacity and shall give a true and correct account of all her acts and doings in and about said Estate and shall render to the Judge aforesaid on account of all money received belonging to the Estate and when legally required so to do pay over all sums of money or other property of whatsoever nature to the proper person or persons to receive the same, then the above obligation to be null and void. L. Guthrie, Clerk To the Honorable the Judge or the Clerk of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, State of Louisiana. The Petition of Jacynthia C. Robinson of Union Parish aforesaid respectfully represents that she has been appointed and confirmed natural Tutrix of her minor children James Madison, Josephine, Samuel M., Elizabeth M., St. Paul and Owen Robinson, that she has caused an Inventory of their effect to be made, that there is quite an amount of perishable and personal property in which they are interested which is difficult to keep and advisable to sell, such as steam machinery, blacksmith tools, iron, on or two yoke of oxen, an interest in Salt Boiling & Co. &c. Petitioner therefore prays for an order of your Honorable Court authorizing her to make a public sale of all the perishable property of the said minors according to law and for all further orders necessary in the premises and for general and equitable relief. Jno. S. Barrett, Atty. State of Louisiana Parish of Union In the matter of the Tutorship of the minor heirs of Samuel M. Robinson, Decd. the premises considered and by reason of the law as this case requiring the same. It is ordered, judged and decreed that Mrs. Jacynthia C. Robinson, Natural Tutrix of the aforesaid minors be and she is hereby authorized to sell all the perishable property belonging to the said minors according to law. Anderson and I Campbell Lassiter do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially appraise all the property that may be presented to me belonging to the Estate and succession of Samuel M.
