W. Sims, Dec'd., Union Parish Louisiana Union Parish Louisiana Succession Book F, pp. 376 - 378 ================================================================================== ================================================================================== NOTE: George W. Sims was born about 1815 in Georgia. In 1860, he worked as a Hotel Keeper in Union Parish. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== To the Honorable the Judge of the Eleventh Judicial District Court in and for the parish of Union, Louisiana. The Petition of William A. Glasson, Administrator of the Estate of G. W. Sims, Decd. late of said Parish, a resident of said Parish respectfully represents that the property of said Estate at Quachita City yet unsold was offered in accordance with the order of sale issued according to law and that it failed to sell on account of their being no bids sufficiently high to come up to the appraisement. Petitioner believes that the appraisement having been made during the war, is too high and above the real value of the property and that it will not sell for the appraisement as it now stands at present. He therefore prays that the said property may be reappraised in order that the appraisement may correspond with the present market value of the property and for such orders in the premises as may be necessary. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union Let the prayer of the petitioner be granted and it is ordered and decreed that all the property belonging to the Estate of Geo. W. Sims, Decd. be reappraised, and it is further ordered that W. C. Smith, Recorder & Ex Officio Notary Public proceed to make the appraisement and due return thereof make to this office. Done and signed in office this 5th day of December AD 1866. J. W. ATTEST George A. Killgore H. H. Cobb John M. Lee S. C. Lee W. C. Smith, Recorder To the Honorable the Judge of the Eleventh Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of William A. Glasson, Administrator of the Estate of Geo. W. Sims, Decd. Respectfully represents that the said Estate is insolvent and it is necessary that all the property be sold in order to make payments on the debts of the Estate . Petitioner represents that the property at Ouachita City having been cleared of the litigation in which it was involved is now subject to be sold as expeditiously as the case will admit of and that a credit of twelve months would most subserve the interest of the Estate. He therefore prays that an order may issue directing the same to be sold on a credit of twelve months, purchaser given notes with security and mortgage retained and that he be authorized to make the said sale. Petitioner further prays for such other orders and decrees as the case requires. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union The premises considered, it is ordered that the prayer of the within petitioner be granted and that the property at Ouachita City belonging to the Estate of G. W. Sims, Decd. be sold as asked for in the petition in accordance with Articles 990, 991 and 992 of the Code of Practice. It is further ordered that William A.
