Between 1831 and 1833, he married Elizabeth J. Ward (20 Feb 1810 – 26 Nov 1886), the daughter of Elisha Ward, Sr. and Jane Neeland. She had apparently first married to John Reddock about 1827, and they apparently had two daughters. Elizabeth's parents left Alabama for Louisiana in the latter 1830s, but George and Elizabeth remained in the state. They lived in Butler County in 1840, but by 1850 they had moved south to Covington County Alabama. They left there in the latter 1850s and migrated to Union Parish Louisiana, where her siblings David Ward and Margaret Ward Auld had settled in the latter 1830s. In 1860, the Solomons lived near her siblings' farms in eastern Union Parish. After George Solomon's death, his widow remarried on 21 March 1868 to Sanders Worthington (c1800 – 1868/1880). She moved back and forth between Union Parish and Texas, living with her children. Her death occurred in Texas in 1886. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== NOTE: This section of this Succession Book was written with ink that has faded in some place beyond the point of reading. Solomon, Decd. leave of the court first had and obtained the Curator files this his amended account wherein he alleges that the amount of Two hundred and fifty Dollars which ads claims as a credit is not for the notes themselves, but for the amount due to David Ward who as security on the said notes at the maturity of the last note took up the said notes and paid their face value and it is this obligation to said [unreadable] that the administrator has satisfied and from which asks a credit and that he settled the claim without interest simply because the Estate was insolvent. It is further averred that said notes were given as the percent of [unreadable] and the same land sold as the property of the Estate.
