L. McGuire, Attorney State of Louisiana Parish of Ouachita Court of Probates Whereas Joseph Kirkland has been appointed under Tutor of John, Derrill, Oliver, Talitha C., Aaron and Joseph the minor children of Ferdinand Stow and Elizabeth Kirkland his wife. Signed October 1835 by Judge of Probates. John Stow was appointed adm. of the estate. I am familiar with the Kirkland family as Lucinda Kirkland was the second wife of George Feazel who was born about 1803. Lucinda and Elizabeth were both the daughter's of Jane and Aaron Kirkland. Aparently Ferdinand W. Stow was also known as "Ferdy" in Conveyance Book D, page 2 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. It is interesting that John Honeycutt was a witness when they married as he married Mary Feazel, a sister to the above George Feazel. They were the children of my ancestors Margaret Pear and George Feazel who migrated to Louisiana around 1811. According to the estate settlement Ferdinand owned land along Bayou DeSiard in Ouachita Parish when he died. See Book G, page 79. DThe land was purchased by Samuel D. Brown at the estate sale. On 19 Dec. 1835 he sold the land to John Stow. I found it interesting that Ferdinand owned twenty mules , one Jackass, twenty one mares some with mule colts, three Jennies and one horse colt, among other property. It is believed that Ferdinand W. Stow may have been a son of Letitie Wood. (?) This information has not been verified by the compiler. I glean from my correspondants that the children: John W. Stow was born before 1824 Derrill Stow was born before 1835 in Ouachita Parish, La. Oliver Stow was born before 1835 in Ouachita Parish, La. Talitha C. Stow was born before 1835 in Ouachita Parish, La. Aaron Stow was born before 1835 in Ouachita Parish, La. It is believed that Ferdinand W. Stow may have been born in the Carolina's. The compiler has not verified this data. # # #
