L. Stripling, Decd. in accordance with Mary S. P. Scott, Administratrix. The Admx. Charges herself with the amount of the Inventory of said Estate to wit: Eight hundred ten and 40/100 dollars $810.40 She also charges herself with the excess of sales over the appraised sum of property sold ___66.02 Sum Total of Debits $876.42 The Administratrix herewith returns a list of Debits due the Estate as worthless, she having failed after [unreadable] to collect them, which list is filed herewith recorded “A” amounting to two hundred and three and 81/100 dollars $203.81 The Admx. Has paid the following debits of the Estate which [unreadable] to wit: 1st Burial Expense account of W. W. Grants{?} for coffin No. 1 $15.00 Law charges Account of W. C. Smith, Recorder No. 2 15.00 , Clerk No. 3 [blank] W. J. Reid, Clerk No. 4 [blank] Union Record, Clerk No. 5 [blank] Jno. Barton, Atty. For Admr. 1 wk. [blank] 2 pct. of Comm. On $876.42 ___21.81 From the foregoing account it will be [unreadable] that the Admx. Is chargeable with a value of [blank] The said Administratrix alleges that she is mated in community with the Decd. A. L. Stripling, that she brought into marriage the same and six hundred dollars in cash, which paid over to deceased and which he used for which sum with [unreadable] thereon from the deceased of her said husband A. L. Stripling. She claims a privilege upon his estate and she further claims enough which [unreadable] to the said six hundred Dollars and interest will make one thousand dollars as the remaining widow of said A. L. Stripling, Decd. If there should be no record in said estate if not, she claims all there is. The Administratrix presents that there may be ordinary debts due by the said estate but although she has advertised to have them presented and the estate has been in process of Administration for several years, not no such claims have been presented to her, but this is entirely [unreadable] as the whole of the Estate is absorbed in paying the privileged debts. Wherefore she prays that this her final account be advertised according to law and that all parties entitled thereto be duly cited and after the legal delays that this account be approved and homologated, that petitioner’s claim for one thousand dollars out of the Estate be recognized and that she be recognized, adjudged to six hundred dollars of this in her own right and the remainder be decreed to her in her capacity as surviving widow for all further orders necessary in the premises and for general relief &c. Jno. L. Barrett State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union Let the prayer of petitioner be granted and it is hereby ordered that the within final account of Mary A. P. Scott as Administratrix of the Estate of A. L. Stripling be advertised according to law. Done and signed in office this 23rd day of February AD 1867. J. W. Reid Clerk, District Court State of Louisiana Parish of Union In the matter of the Homologation of the final account filed by M. L. P. Scott, Administratrix. Evidence Adduced 1st Vouchers filed 2nd J. W. Reid, Clerk, sworn says he was acting clerk, District Court February 23, 1867, the date of the filing by her of said final accounts and that the same has been duly advertised according to the requirements of law by posting a copy of advertisements at the door of the court House of said parish and by inserting the same in the Union Record, a weekly newspaper published in the said Town of Farmerville for more than thirty years prior to the date hereof and that no opposition has been filed to the Homologation of said final account. J. W. Reid, Clerk Sworn to and subscribed before me this the 4th day of May AD 1867. W. A. Darby, J. P. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union I, J. W. Reid, Clerk of said court do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is all the evidence adduced upon the trial of the Homologation of the final account filed by M. S. P. Scott, Administratrix of the Estate of A. L. Stripling, Deceased. Done and signed in office this 4th day of May AD 1867. J. W. Reid, Clerk State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union By reason of the law and the evidence in this case and by the further reason of the proper advertisement having been made and no opposition having been filed thereto, it is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed that the within final account filed hereto by Mary S. P. Scott as Administratrix of the Estate of A. L. Stripling be and the same is hereby allowed, approved and homologated in all its parts according to law.
