Stripling, a resident of said Parish departed this life on or about the second day of June last at his residence in said Parish, leaving an estate consisting of real estate, slaves, personal property, rights, credits and debts. Also leaving a family consisting of a widow and six minor children. Petitioner represents that he is the father of the deceased, that he left no will and that it is necessary that an administrator should be appointed to take charge of the Estate. He therefore prays that an Inventory and appraisement may be had according to law, and that after due proceedings had he may be appointed Administrator of said Estate and for such other orders as shall be necessary. State of Louisiana 12th Judicial District Court Parish of Union I, Arthur Stripling do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Administrator of the Estate and Succession of Geo. Estate of George W. Stripling, Decd. State of Louisiana, Parish of Union Know all men by these presents that I, Arthur Stripling, as principal and Samuel L. Robinson as his Security are held and firmly bound unto Robert W. Richardson, Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union and State of Louisiana or to his successors in office in the full and just sum of five thousand eight Hundred and thirteen dollars, the true and faithful payment thereof well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves, our heirs, assigns and legal representatives firmly by these presents. Dated this 18th June AD 1859. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas Arthur Stripling has been duly and legally appointed Administrator of the Estate of George W. Stripling, Decd. Now, therefore, if the said Arthur Stripling shall faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on him as administrator of said Estate and shall faithfully account to the Judge of the said court for all monies received from this state or any other state and shall pay over to the proper person all the moneys and property belonging to said Estate whenever legally required. Stripling, Decd. late of this Parish, respectfully represents that the personal property of said Estate is subject to waste and deterioration by being kept on hand and also that the debts presented should be paid out of the same. He therefore prays that an order to sell all the personal property of said Estate. That it would be for the interest of the estate that the said property should be sold on a credit until the first day of February AD 1861 with 8 percent Interest from the day of Sale. Homolgation of final account of Arthur Stripling as administrator of said Succession. 1st Vouchers filed with said final account. 2nd Thomas C. Lewis sworn says that the said final account was filed on the 28th day of September AD 1861 nd the same has been duly and legally advertised by posting in three public places in the Parish of Union (there being no newspaaper published in said Parish) viz. by posting a copy of the advertisement in the town of Farmerville and another at the Court House door in said parish and by handing a third copy thereof to [blank] to post in some other public place. Said advertisements have been posted for more than thirty days prior to the 1st Saturday in November 1861 and that there has been no opposition made to the same up to the present date. Thos. C. The petition of Amazella Stripling now the wife of Edward G. Caskell and both residents of Union Parish aforesaid respectfully represents that said Amazella Stripling one of your petitioners is the mother and Natural Tutrix of the minor heirs of the late George Washington Stripling to wit; that she has since married and lost her rights as Natural Tutrix of the said minors, her children but she now prays that a family meeting be convoked according to law and advise and recommend with regard to the appointment of a tutor to the said minors and should the said meeting thus advise and recommend your petitioners pray that the said Amazella Stripling be appointed Tutrix and Edward G. Caskell as Tutor of the aforesaid minors and for all orders and decrees necessary in the premises and for general and equitable relief. Jno. A. Barrett, Atty. Egan, Judge of the 11th District court in the just and full sum of [blank] dollars to the true and just payment whereof will and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, assigns and legal representatives firmly by these presents. Dated at Farmerville, La. Mary 3rd 1862. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas M. E. Caskell has been appointed Tutrix to her minor children to wit: Martha, Mary Jane, Josephine and Susan Stripling and she has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore, if the said M. E. Caskell shall faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent upon her in said capacity and shall, when legally required so to do pay over all sums of money or other property belonging to said minors received from this or any other belonging to said minors received from this or any other state, to the said minors or their legal representatives or to the proper person or person to receive the same and shall faithfully render to the Judge an account of all her acts and doings in and about said matter of tutorship yearly, then the above obligation to be null and void.
