Tubb, Deceased To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of William Tubb, a resident of said parish and State, respectfully represents unto your Honor that John B. Tubb, late of your said Parish, departed this life on or about the 21st day of December 1861 leaving a widow, daughter of Petitioner (Elizabeth Tubb) and 4 children Crettman[?], Nancy, Mary and Francis Tubb all minors. Also leaving an estate consisting of land, slaves and personal property rights, credits and debts. Petitioner prays that an inventory and appraisement may be made according to law, and after due proceedings to be made appointed administrator of the said Estate and for such other orders in the premises as may be necessary. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union The premises considered it is ordered and decreed that the within application of William [sec] Tubb to be appointed Administrator of the Estate of W. B. Tubb, Decd. be advertised according to law. It is further ordered that W. C. Smith, Parish Recorder and Ex-officio Notary Public be and he is hereby authorized to make an inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the said Estate of William B. Tubb, Decd. and due return thereof make to this office without delay. Done and signed in office on this the 31st December 1861. J. L. Guthrie, Clerk State of Louisiana Parish of Union The premises considered and by reason of proper advertisement having been made according to law and no opposition having been made thereto and filed in my office, it is ordered that William Tubb be and he is appointed Administrator of the Estate of W. Tubb and George Tubb, James McClelland as securities are held and firmly bound unto M. B. Egan, Judge of the 11th District Court or to his successors in office in the just and full sum of [blank] dollars, the true and faithful payment whereof well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns and legal representatives firmly by these presents dated at Farmerville January 20th 1862. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above petitioner, William Tubb has been duly and legally appointed Administrator of the Estate of John B. Tubb, Decd. and he has taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore if the said William Tubb shall faithfully and impartially discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on him as Administrator of said Estate of J. B. Tubb and shall faithfully account to the Judge of said court for all moneys or property received belonging to said Estate received from this or any other State and shall render a faithful account of all his acts and doings in and about said Estate to the Judge of said court and whenever legally required so to do pay over all sums of money and deliver all the property of whatever nature belonging to said estate to the proper persons to receive the same then the above obligation to be of no effect, otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect against the principal and his said securities. Court Succession of John B. Tubb, Deceased 11th District Court, Parish of Union, La. Whereas, William Tubb has been dully and legally appointed Administrator of the Estate of John B. Tubb, Decd. and he has given bond with good security and taken the oath prescribed by law. Now therefore the said William Tubb is duly and legally authorized and empowered to do perform all the acts in and about said Estate according to law. Guthrie Clerk, District Court To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Union, Louisiana. The petition of William Tubb, a resident of said Parish and Administrator of the Estate of John B. Tubb respectfully represents that the personal property of said Estate is subject to waste and deterioration and that he believes that the interest of the Estate demands that it should be sold as expeditiously as the natur4e of the case would admit of and that the sale should be on a credit. He therefore prays that an order may issue directing the sale of the said property on a credit of twelve months, purchasers giving their notes with good security and bearing interest from the date of sale. He further prays that he be authorized to make the sale and for general relief. H. Regenburg, Atty. State of Louisiana 11th Judicial District Court Parish of Union It is ordered and decreed that the prayer of petitioner be granted and that there be a sale of the personal property belonging to the estate of John B. Tubb, Decd. on the 12th day of February 1862 and that the Administrator be authorized to make said sale. Sums of said sale to be on a credit of twelve months. Purchasers giving their notes with approved security and bearing eight per cent from date. Done and signed in office on this 20th day of January 1862. Jas. L.
