The petition of Eliza Williams of your said Parish and State respectfully represents unto your Honorable Court that her husband George Williams died in your said Parish sometime during the month of August 1853 leaving the following minor children issue of the marriage of your petitioner and said husband viz: Josephine, James T., Drusilla E. and George Williams, that there has been no Tutor nor Under Tutor for said minors appointed the premises considered. Your petitioner asks that she be appointed and confirmed as Tutrix to her said minor children and that John G. Wright be appointed and confirmed as Under Tutor and for general relief. C. H. Heard, Atty. State of Louisiana Parish of Union It is ordered that Eliza Williams be appointed and confirmed Natural Tutrix to her minor children to wit: Josephine, Jas. T., Drusilla E. and George Williams and upon her taking the oath prescribed by law that letters do issue to her. It is further ordered that J. G. Wright be appointed Under Tutor and that letters do issue to them on taking the oath required by law. Done and signed in office July 6th 1863. J. L. Guthrie, Clerk State of Louisiana 11th District court Parish of Union I, Eliza Williams do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially perform and discharge all and singular the duties incumbent on me as Natural Tutrix to my minor children to wit: Josephine, Jas. T, Drusilla E. and George Williams according to law to the best of my ability and judgment and understanding. So help me God. Now therefore, the said Eliza Williams is hereby duly and legally authorized and empowered to do and perform all the acts appertaining to said appointment according to law.
