Your Petitioner Hiram A. Willson, a resident of the above State and Parish with respect represents that he is a minor of 20 years of age, without parents in this state and that the Petitioner owns property in this state which needs his care and attention in person, which property is endangerous [sic] by his want of capacity by reason of his minority. Petitioner therefore prays that your honor order his emancipation, freeing him from al encumbrances and incapabities all arising from his said minority and that he be fully empowered and authorized to administer his own affairs in every respect. T. B. Tompkins Written Emancipation State of Louisiana Parish of Union I hereby give my written consent as required by act of legislation 1856, to him with John B. Willson, Tutor Ad Hoc. Parish of Union State of Louisiana I, Jams A. Willson, do solemnly swear to faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on me as Tutor ad hoc to the minor Hiram A. Willson to the best of my ability and understanding. So help me God. J. B. Wilson Sworn to and subscribed before me this 2nd day of February 1866 Thos. C. Lewis Clerk, District Court It is ordered and decreed that James A. Willson be appointed representative of the minor H. A. Willson in the matter of Emancipation, February 2nd 1866. J. D. Watkins Judge, 11th District Court State of Louisiana Parish of Union By reason of the law and the evidence in this case, it is ordered, judged and decreed that the said Hiram A. Willson be emancipated as prayed for in petition and released from all legal encumberances and incapacities consequent upon his minority and that he be authorized to transmit and conduct his own affairs in every respect.
