Received of Huffman G. Pleasant “Thirteen hundred & fifty Dollars" in full 
payment for a negro boy Mitchel aged Twenty one years & a slave for life 
January 3rd 1857

Personally came and appeared before me the under signed Recorder & c in and 
for said parish and state 
A.J. Hunt one of the subscribing witnesses to the annexed Bill of Sale who on 
his oath say that Wm. L. Spears signed said Bill of Sale in his presence for 
the purposes therein mentioned & that he and the other subscribing witness 
signed with said party as witnesses at the same time & place, Sworn to and 
subscribed before me on this day the 14th day of April 1857
