Ramsey, Spearsville, Union Parish Louisiana Union Parish, LA Deed book I pg. 332 Written April 5, 1857 Recorded April 1, 1859 ======================================================================================= ======================================================================================= Be It known that on this day the Fifth day of April 1857 I William L. Spears of the parish of Union and State of Louisiana for and in consideration of Twelve hundred & fifty dollars the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged so by these presents grant Bargain sell & set over with a full guarantee against all debts mortgage alienations or encumbrance whatsoever unto Humphrey W. Ramsey of the parish of Union & State of Louisiana a certain negro girl & child slaves for life named Amanda aged about sixteen years & the child Malinda about nine months, whom I hereby fully guarantee entitled against the maladies & vices prescribed by law. In faith whereof I herein sign my name together with Missuer D.M. Jameson and R.D. Black Witnesses on the day & date first above written W.L. Spears Attest D.M Jameson R.D. Black State of Louisiana Parish of Union Personally came and appeared before me the under signed legal authority D.M. Jameson one of the subscribing witnesses to the within deed s who after being sworn deposes and says that Wm. L. Spears Signed the within Deed in his presence and in the presence of the other attesting witness and that all the signatures thereto are genuine Sworn to and subscribed before me on this day the 30th day of March AD 1839 Wm.
