Spears of the Parish and State aforesaid in compliance with a bond for the title made by A. & W.L. Spears to Mrs. Nancy Vines Oct 20th AD 1853 The payment of said bond I acknowledge the receipt Viz Four hundred & fifty dollars in consideration of which I as the surviving partner of the firm of A. & W.L. Spears & as administrator of the Estate of Alexander Spears Deceased do by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto Mrs. Sarah P. Ford, of the parish and state aforesaid the following described land viz the ½ E. Quarter of the NW quarter also a lot situated in the NW quarter of the NW quarter bounded North by Honells (?) Spring branch or hollow & East by the Farmerville road (where said road now runs) & the western line of the first described forty acres to extend south until it contains five acres extending West the depth of one half square acre all in Section 5 Township Twenty Two Range Two West containing Forty five acres more or less to the said Mrs. Sarah P. Ford her heirs & assigns forever & the said W.L. Spears his heirs and assigns shall and will forever warrant and defend against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever Done and passed in the presence of D.M Jameson and F.M. Hawkins witnesses of Lawful age and domciliated in said Parish this the twelfth day of February AD One Thousand Eight hundred & fifty nine (and a half and a half in our place & his heirs & assigns in another interlined before signing W.L. Spears for himself & Adm. Estate A. Spears, deceased Sarah P. Ford (X her mark) D.M Jameson F.M. Hawkins State of Louisiana Parish of Union Before me the under signed Recorder & c in and for the parish and state aforesaid personally came and appeared D.M Jameson one of the subscribing witnesses to the within Deed who after being duly sworn by me deposes and says that he saw the parties to the within transfer sign the same the under making his ordinary mark & that he and F.M Hawkins signed with said parties as witnesses at the same time and place & that all the signatures thereto are genuine sworn to & subscribed before me March 5th 1859 D.M.
