Hendrick, Jr. ================================================================================= ================================================================================== 12 July 1890 Letter from Lee Emmitt Thomas to Florence Smith ================================================================================= ================================================================================== Marion, LA July 12, 1890 My Dear Florence, Your letter was rec’d late Thursday eve on my return from the fishing frolic & I answer today to let you know that it will be impossible for me to come over on Sunday as I had first anticipated since there is preaching at “Concord” on Sunday & Mother [Susan George Thomas] desires the team in order to go there. I expect I shall go over on Monday if nothing prevents & if I do will be delighted to go to see you Tuesday night if agreeable. All the folks in town are talking of getting up a fish fry on the Loutre next week & I may possibly stay for that. I don’t think so however, as I am too anxious to get back to town & begin to get ready for court in August. There was a vast difference in your two letters. You are indeed an anomaly.
