All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ MARGARET PEAR FEAZEL AND HER SON, SOLOMAN Soloman was the youngest of eight children born to Margaret and George Feazel. He was born in the state of Virginia and died in Union Parish, Louisiana on or about 30 July, 1861. On the 19th. day of June, 1834 Margaret appeared before the courts and answered questions for the State of Louisiana, Parish of Ouachita. She testified under oath that she and her son, Soloman Feazel had cultivated land and she had a dwelling house on the land. Entry #4780, 06 November, 1837. On 16 September, 1835 they cultivated in the same field and lived in the same house, but had seperate and distinct interests, each owning seperate stock and each did their own trading. GEORGE FEAZEL AND HIS SON JOHN George Feazel and John Feazel were both settlers on the North West quarter of Section twenty seven in Township twenty of range one west in the years 1814-1834. In July, 1833 George was about to visit the Providence of Texas which is evident by a letter retained in Austin and signed by Oliver Morgan, Parish Judge of Ouachita, State of Louisiana and J. H. Overton, Judge of the 7th. District of the State of Louisiana. Upon his arrival in Texas, he learned that Stephen F. Austin had been improsined by the Mexicans. According to family lore, he was never seen or herd from again. SOLOMAN FEAZEL According to the census records he was born about 1807 or 1808. His first marriage was to Sarah Elizabeth Farmer, a daughter of Susannah Wood and Mills Farmer. Sarah Elizabeth was born ca 1818 and died between 1850 and 1860. They were known to be the parents of seven children, Cecelia, Albert M., Franklin, Maximillian, Delaware J., William Penn and James N. Feazel. Cecelia Delamore Feazel was born about 1838 in Union Parish. She is believed to have married William C. Fitzgerald and J. Wyatt Aulds. A son, Albert M. Feazel was born between 1830 and 1840 in Union Parish, La. He served in Co. K. 2nd. La. Inf. during the civil war. He was killed in action in Malvern, Arkansas on or about 1st. July, 1862. A son, Franklin Feazel was born about 1841 in Union Parish. He was a Pvt. in Co. E. 12th. La. Inf. during the civil war. He was killed in action 31 Oct. 1861. A son, Maximillian C. Feazel was born around June, 1846 in Union Parish. He died on or about on or about Feb. 1887. He married in 1873 to Martha E. "Mattie" Edmunds, a dau. of Nancy Bagby and Roscoe Edmunds. She was born ca 1850 in the state of Ga. and died ca 1885. They are interred in the Greenwood Cem. in Ruston, Lincoln Parish, La. Maximillian, a Lincoln Parish Attorney, was elected to one term in the state legislature in 1800, following George Luther Gaskins and succeeded William A. Van Hook. They were the parents of six children. Lucius Maximillian, B. E. , W. J., Annie, Bessie Elmo and Jess. The compiler has no additional data on Delaware J. Feazel born 1854, the fifth child of Susannah and Soloman Feazel. William Penn Feazel, the sixth child, was born 25 Dec. 1856 in Union Parish, La. He was admitted to the bar in 1880 after studying under the tutorship of the firm of Smoothe and Keiso of Magnolia, Arkansas. In 1885 he served as circuit judge of the ninth judical district. In 1886 he married Sena Cowling, a daughter of Martha Ann McElroy and John Paul Cowling. They were the parents of four children, Willie Park, Sena Adele, Lucille and William Penn Feazel, Jr. Soloman Feazel was reputed to have also married Mrs. Betty Palmer.
