Among the early members was Philip Peer (sic: Pear) He was the father of Margaret Feazel, wife of George. This is from "History of Lutheran Church in Va. and Eastern TN. It should be noted that both sides of the family had a German background. Phillip Pehr/Pear/Peer had married Margaret Louchmiller, a dau. of Jurig M. Luhmuller (sic Lockmiller/Louchmiller) the emigrant. The grandmother of George Feazel was a daughter of Phillip Sumner. It seemed only logical that George and Margaret Feazel would name their eldest son Phillip. Phillip Feazel married a young school teacher, possibly in February 1826. They established their home between Cypress and Stowe Creeks. Like his brother John, Phillip proved to be a progressive citizen. He developed the first store building in Farmerville, La. and later sold it to Abe Steins of Steins Bluff on the D'arbonne. Like his brother Michael, he also owned and operated a cotton gin on his place. He had a farm which was worked by the hand of his slaves. Like every Feazel I have ever known, he was a great hunter and spent most of his time pursuing that sport, not only for fun, but to furnish meat for the family. ...................................
