Some evidence indicates that the office changed locations between when it closed the first time after Francis Marion Roan served as postmaster for six months in 1887. However, subsequent postmasters lived near the modern village of Rocky Branch. Shadrack J. Wall and Rabun lived in Section 26, Township 20 North, Range 2 East, near Bayou D'Arbonne and about one mile west of modern Rocky Branch. ###########################################################
