    originally established 23 March 1908, but order rescinded 27 November 1908
    established again 31 December 1909

HISTORY OF DEAN POST OFFICE:
    originally ordered established on 23 March 1908 with D. Gill Russell, postmaster
    order rescinded 27 November 1908
    established 31 December 1909
    discontinued 31 December 1912, with mail forwarded to Marion
   


POSTMASTERS:

D. Gill Russell 
     [his appointment of 23 Mar 1908 was rescinded 27 Nov 1908, so he may have never served]

Jos. L. Edwards, 31 Dec 1909 - 30 Dec 1912

     [Office discontinued on 31 Dec 1912, with mail forwarded to Marion.]

COMMENTS:

Dean is in northeastern Union Parish, some five miles east of Marion and north of Haile, 
in Section 10, Township 22 North, Range 3 East.
